People thinking that the CEO of the UK’s largest supermarket chain should have their salary capped at £300k p/a. This place just isn’t real.

The Daily Mail has now twice reset this poll to zero because people keep voting to rejoin. It now stands at 82% rejoin so expect another reset very soon.
Tim Walker@ThatTimWalker
Funny old world.
English
@Carolin35773662 @archer_rs Then we can also vote to rejoin.
You’re factually wrong.
English

@archer_rs It's fiddled, we voted to leave, end of and I bet more and more people are wanting to leave since 2016, look at liberal policies and how much they have ruined our country, we need to vote Restore then we will get a proper, prosperous brexit, not the half baked one we got

I think of the UK as a second home, so this may be a bit tough.
UK healthcare is not free; it is paid for by UK taxes. It is also rationed - a dear friend in the UK recently died of a cancer that was easily treatable - but she could not get seen into to prevent the cancer from metastasizing.
In the US, we pay for health insurance and get regular annual check-ups. We have to take a much more active role to both stay healthy and be covered in case something bad happens.
Also, for an example, the US has 40 MRI machines per 100,000 people, the UK has 8 per 100,000 people.

@thekeyspleaze @Polymarket Check the latest stats. Brits have better dental health than Americans. Have for a long time.
English
@ArdentSpeakr @Polymarket Nonsense comparison. You would need to add in their state benefits, e.g. healthcare.
English

@Polymarket Average Americans can take 4 weeks unpaid vacation and still make more than average Brits.

English
@Akira19747 @Polymarket it's a lie. just compare the g20 instead to see it.
English

@Polymarket The brits are like the boiling frog who doesn't know until it's too late he's been cooked. Leftism has destroyed the UK...they just don't know it yet.
English
@Polymarket This is a nonsense comparison.
Why not compare us to the g20?
English
@Echo_333333 @owenk98 You're actually proving the OP's point. You're on a trajectory to earn that kind of money.

@anon_opin I'm a fan of 90s Ska.
How much new 90's ska came out this year?

If the UK joined the US as the 51st state.
We would be the poorest state in the entire union.
Mississippi which is portrayed at swamp dwelling hillbillies in majority of international media is above us.
I don’t think people grasp how far we’ve fallen in real terms when it comes to GDP per capita.
We’ve seen no growth for almost an entire generations.
We’ve seen our productivity decrease and our tax increases.
The average person on the UK, on £50,000 is less well off than your average Mississippi swamp dweller.
Polymarket@Polymarket
JUST IN: New analysis reveals Brits thought the UK ranked 7th against US states in income per person — it actually ranked 51st.

If, like me, you were born in 1956, you’ll receive almost £300,000 more in benefits than you’ll pay in taxes in your lifetime
State Pensions make up a huge chunk of that
Long term, we simply can’t afford to sustain the Triple Lock’s generosity
