A fan of the Chicago Bulls successfully made a remarkable shot during a 1993 game, winning a million-dollar prize. This shot, nicknamed "The Calhoun Shot" or "The Immaculate Connection," occurred when spectator Don Calhoun made a 75-foot shot from the free-throw line at the opposite end of the court during a timeout in the third quarter of a Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat game on April 14, 1993. The shot was part of a promotional campaign offering a million-dollar reward to any fan who could achieve this feat. However, an insurance company named American Hole 'N One Inc initially invalidated the payment, citing a technicality due to Calhoun's past involvement in college basketball, which violated the contest rules. Despite this setback, both fan and player uproar ensued over the non-payment to Calhoun. Eventually, the sponsors of the promotion, including Coca-Cola and the Bulls, decided to honor the payment. As a result, Calhoun received $50,000 annually for the next two decades, totaling the promised million-dollar prize. Interestingly, Calhoun mentioned that Michael Jordan later remarked, "we made them pay it," referring to the collective effort that led to the sponsors fulfilling the payment.

@nikoagonzalez @GraceRandolph People said the same thing about ZSJL… yet it’s a completely different movie that is orders of magnitude better than Josstice League. Ayer has clearly stated his movie is different in tone… Leto’s Joker performance is not gutted, more character dev, etc.

@GraceRandolph the movie was bad, period. An extra 30 mins or even an extra hour is just gonna be more time watching something mid. If they wanna release it on Max whatever, but really they’re doing too much now like why even care at this point

@bbopinionpage @GraceRandolph It's a big deal in the same way Zack Snyder's Justice League was a big deal. When a studio changes a finished product so much that it becomes unrecognizable to the director and completely destroys the performance of one of the leads (Leto), it's problematic. #ReleaseTheAyerCut.

@GraceRandolph I don't understand why releasing the Ayer Cut has to be a big deal. It's no longer a "new" product. It's an archival release at this point 7-8 years later, like the Donner Cut of Superman II. Just put out the Ayer Cut as a "bonus" disc in a repackage of the movie.

@mr_evertz I don't think that's the right question. This would do less to hurt the economy than having to bail out banks for wild/speculative derivatives in 2008, and less than subsidizing Walmart employee food costs through food stamps b/c billionaire owners pay badly.

Either commit to an actual full reboot, or finish off the Snydeverse storylines as elseworlds w/ Cavill and Affleck (since Greg Silverman confirmed profit for Snyderverse) and do the partial reboot.
