@TeslaDiva99 @wholemars I love the convenience of these terminals, but the tipping is getting out of hand. A lot of them have 20% as the lowest preset tip! Who gives 20% tip on a takeout order?

I just ordered a burger from Shake Shack on a self-serve iPad kiosk. When I finished ordering, it asked for a tip and auto-added 10%.
What are your thoughts? Should we tip even when our order is being taken by a piece of software?

@wholemars absofuckinglutely! you don't think the people actually making the food deserve a tip? the more automation, the lower the cost (and presumably price) and the further the tips go as less are sharing. If you can afford a Tesla and don't tip 20% at a fast food joint then you suck

@RBReich By this math, many of them paid infinite tax % in 2022 due to massive declines in wealth. Your twisting of words and cherry picking of data is blatantly disingenuous and ultimately counterproductive b/c it turns off those, like me, who otherwise agree w/you in principle.

Never forget that the 25 richest people in America paid a true tax rate of just 3.4% between 2014 and 2018 on over $400 billion in wealth gains. The rest of America paid an average of 13.3% in 2018.
