Assumption from a reliable Xbox modder source: The backend of Microsoft/Xbox servers for backwards compatible titles has changed (since a few days ago) and is unlikely they would change for any reason other than fixing it permanently. #callofduty #xbox #matchmaking #fixbackcompat

UPDATE! It seems old CoD servers have broken again! Hopefully this is a temporary issue and they are actually trying to fix issues with it. You can search "mw2 server" or "mw3 server" on Twitter/X and look at latest tweets and see multiple people mentioning it.

Old CoD servers on Xbox have broken again on CoD4-MW3 with errors while searching and even sitting on main menu, as well as "ghost lobbies" when searching making it harder to find lobbies. @Xbox @XboxSupport @Activision @ATVIAssist @CODUpdates

@PleaseFixBC @Gavcobob Hello why does when I go on bo1 it’s won’t let me connect to Xbox live do I need to be subscribed to the game pass to use online on backwards games?

@hunterbue @Miamirunsthis Remote Code Execution, hackers can get in your pc if they want, it's a risk when playing some old titles like MW2, BO2, MW3, BO3, aren't safe, I believe WW2, Ghosts, AW, IW, MWR may also have this issue. Any CoD with P2P connection could have it CoD1/CoD2/CoD4/Bo1/WaW are safe

@PleaseFixBC Anybody else dealing with no weapon progression? I’m getting kills but it’s not counting the kills in the weapon challenges

@Miamirunsthis RCE exploits still remain on pc as far as I know but matchmaking should work but mw3 is still broken I think just be cautious because RCE is no joke.

CoD4 Xbox seems to have an issue where games freeze/crash when one or multiple people try joining at once. As far as I know this is the only game with this issue. Please RT/Like to spread awareness so they can hopefully fix this!

Glad they fixed matchmaking and all but now they need to fix CoD4 games freezing/crashing and the main menu freezing on every game...

@excaq @Moxahs Yea its annoying but at least searching works I can deal with freezing

@Gavcobob It is! There are still some problems like getting occasional freeze, black screen with Connect to Xbox Live, and reports that lobbies randomly crash sometimes, but connecting to lobbies should work just like it used to!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PC has several hacks and exploits, including a current hack that lets cheaters reveal your IP address, corrupt your game data, and even crash your PC. Activision today said they’re deploying a fix later this week to stop the exploit (via TechCrunch)
