Intelligent conservatives tried to warn everyone how getting involved in Israel's war would hurt the average American.. some were skeptical, others were just too stupid to understand basic economics.. Unfortunately, we're stuck in this life-raft with you retards.. #AmericaFirst

**The word "soccer" originated in late 19th-century England as British university slang.**
It comes from "**assoc**" (a shortening of "**association**" in *Association Football*, the full official name for the sport governed by the Football Association, or FA, founded in 1863) plus the playful "-er" suffix common in Oxford and Cambridge student slang at the time.
### Key details:
- **"Association Football"** was created to distinguish the kicking-only version of the game (no carrying the ball) from **Rugby Football** (which allowed handling), after the FA formalized its rules in 1863.
- Students nicknamed Rugby Football "**rugger**" and Association Football "**assoccer**" (or sometimes "**socker**"). "**Assoccer**" soon shortened to "**soccer**."
- The earliest printed uses appear in the late 1880s–1890s (e.g., "socca" in 1889, "socker" in 1891, "soccer" by 1895). It was attributed by some to English footballer Charles Wreford-Brown.
In Britain, "**soccer**" remained a casual nickname, while the sport became commonly known simply as "**football**." In the United States (and some other countries), "**soccer**" stuck as the primary term to avoid confusion with American **gridiron football**.
This is a thoroughly British coinage—**not** an American invention, despite common assumptions.

For more than a decade, I’ve been fighting for parents, veterans, families, and the America First principles that put our nation, our communities, and our children first. I haven’t just talked about these issues, I’ve been on the front lines, advocating for Florida families in school board meetings, county chambers, the state Capitol, and in Congress. Now, I’m ready to take that fight to Washington and be a strong voice for the people of Florida’s 14th Congressional District.
