BBC BROKE EQUALITY LAW AND GOT CAUGHT Carrie Gracie spent 30 years at the @BBC. She spoke fluent Mandarin. She ran the Beijing bureau. She was one of four international editors, two men and two women. Then in 2017 the BBC was forced to publish salary data. Gracie looked at what her male equivalent, the North America editor, was earning. He was on nearly double her salary. She had explicitly said equal pay was a condition of taking the China role. The BBC agreed. Then quietly paid her far less anyway. She asked for equal pay. The BBC offered her a raise that still left her below the men. She turned it down. She resigned from the China post in January 2018 and published an open letter telling the licence fee public exactly what their broadcaster was doing. The BBC then put her through nearly a year of an internal grievance process that went nowhere. It took three meetings with the Director-General and the threat of an employment tribunal before she got a public apology and the backdated pay owed to her. The total came to £361,000. She donated every penny to the Fawcett Society (@fawcettsociety), the gender equality charity. She said the fight was about principle, not the payout. A publicly funded institution, legally obligated to follow equality law, paid women less than men in identical roles, got caught, dragged it out for a year, and only coughed up under threat of a tribunal. That is not a pay oversight. That is a policy. Gracie did not ask for a favour. She asked for what she was owed. The BBC made her fight for it like it was a privilege. This matches his pattern — celebrating deaths of conservatives (e.g. “Stay dead, bitch!” about Thatcher).
A man who demands “tolerance” and safe spaces openly celebrates political murder with dehumanising slurs.
The Green Party is full of people who want anyone who doesn’t agree with them dead.

Palestine Action activist Samuel Corner, 23, told a court it “seemed reasonable” to hit a female police officer in the back with a sledgehammer during a raid on an Israel-linked defence firm. Corner struck Sergeant Kate Evans, fracturing her spine, while activists used a prison van to smash into the Elbit Systems site near Bristol on 6 August 2024. He claimed he acted after hearing a fellow campaigner screaming and fearing she was being seriously hurt by security guards. Corner insisted he would never want to seriously injure anyone and that the strike was not planned violence. He is also accused of criminal damage after the group used sledgehammers and crowbars to destroy computers, drones and equipment and sprayed the site with red paint. The trial at Woolwich Crown Court continues.

A 30-year-old migrant with admitted childhood links to the Taliban has been jailed for two-and-a-half years for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl at a taxpayer-funded hotel in Acton, west London.
Afsar Safi, who entered the UK in 2021, lured the girl away from her mother with an apple in September last year, dragged her along a corridor and assaulted her. The child escaped after alerting security staff.
Safi, whose asylum claim (citing Taliban affiliation since age 10) was rejected and is under appeal, was convicted at Isleworth Crown Court.
He was placed on the sex offenders’ register for seven years. He could be released on licence after serving as little as six months.
