This is probably the best tech book I've read so far this year. "AI Engineering" by Chip Huyen gave me a great overview of how LLMs work, how they can be customized to be used inside commercial projects, and the potential dangers and pitfalls of using them. It's a book that is technical but that does not go too low-level into obscure math or coding stuff; it's very easy to read; it is very detailed and gives many links to go deeper; plus it mentions the epic comic about "Little Bobby Tables", which for me is a huge plus. It's a theoretical book, so it won't tell you how to practically implement things. But from this overview, you can understand what is happening around us with artificial intelligence. And then, if you want, you start finding how to make your hands dirty, for instance, creating a RAG or fine-tuning an LLM. (I'm not affiliated at all with the author, or the book...
