Writing a valid story about a politician is not ‘parasitic behaviour’ Didsy. It is called journalism. Parasites live inside a host organism and destroy it from within. That’s what the Nazis said about Jews. I’ve written one story about you. That is not ‘parasitical’. It appears to have upset you as you’ve been tweeting about it and me all day (when you weren’t dad dancing on the stage). The irony is that the ‘antizionists’ in your party are the parasites. They are turning a party that once cared about the environment into a vehicle for Jew hatred. And you are giving them cover. That’s why most of your family don’t talk to you. That’s why they told me about their fears for what your party will do to our country, our community and you. They still love you.

@ZoeJardiniere I didn’t hound anyone. They came to me. The use of the word parasite is an antisemitic trope. I’d normally expect that of the leader of an antisemitic party but he should know better as a Jewish man.

I’m a freelance journalist who spoke to your family members who are frightened by the Jew hate in your party. They are frightened by what you have given the green light to. Tony Blair has lost all credibility the day he chose to align himself with Donald Trump on his so called alternative to the United Nations. This is not a marginal misstep or a question of nuance, but a profound shift in political character. Blair, once presented as a figure of the centre left, now places himself alongside a project that seeks to bypass established international law, institutions, and collective global governance in favour of personality driven power.
In doing so, Tony Blair has moved far beyond the traditions he once claimed to represent. To lend legitimacy to such an initiative is to abandon the principles of multilateralism, accountability, and the rule based international order. It is difficult to reconcile this with anything other than a complete departure from centre left politics into something far more troubling, where authority is concentrated, dissent is diminished, and the structures that safeguard democracy are treated as obstacles rather than foundations.
That is why this moment matters. It is not simply that Blair has made a poor judgement. It is that he has, by his own actions, aligned himself with a direction of politics that bears the hallmarks of authoritarianism, and in doing so has forfeited the credibility he once held.
