Well, I guess with Jason Schreier’s Bloomberg report today, things start to make a lot more sense about Bloodborne.
According to the report, Bluepoint pitched a remake in early 2025. Sony was open to the idea because the numbers made sense and Bluepoint already had a strong track record. But FromSoftware didn’t want it to happen.
If FromSoftware themselves said no, it shows they want full control over Bloodborne and don’t want another studio touching it. That alone explains why nothing ever moved forward, no matter how much demand there was or how often fans asked for it.
It also lines up with the long-running idea that FromSoftware wasn’t fully happy with Demon’s Souls being remade by someone else. Even if the remake was well received, it still wasn’t their vision. This rumor supports the idea that they don’t want that situation repeated with a game as personal to them as Bloodborne.
And honestly, for the people who always said the Demon’s Souls remake didn’t respect the original art style or the vision FromSoftware had, this rumor feels like the closest thing to confirmation they’ve ever gotten.
So now the real question is this: does Bloodborne stay untouched forever at this point?
