Year 6 are currently enjoying a money workshop from @RedSTARTeducate at @landg_group today. They are playing games to earn money, make investments and earn interest. Through this, they are learning all about borrowing as well as risk and reward.

We repeated this survey at the end of the summer term and will be keen to see the extent that the responses have already changed, and continue to change over time.

· Across the board they gave low responses in terms of thinking about value for money (25%), or first establishing if they could wait or needed the item now (30%), with 14% saying they’d just buy it.

More than 3,700 primary school children aged between 6 – 8 from 45 schools in underprivileged rural and urban areas across England and Scotland were surveyed on a range of age-appropriate money-related questions including money management, financial aspirations and goals.
