Reinstalled this again this morning. Was a breeze to install on Windows 11, despite the complaints online. I love this program for building random encounter tables as well as pre-rolling encounters and treasure.

@NoctuaAthenes The map editor is a very old version of the profantasy software. Inkarnate or Wonderdraft are better options today.

@RetroGamer_Meph These days I'd finally ran it. Building encounters through it is so interesting especially for dungeons. The map editor is good, also, though I can't print it digitally (the bitmap turn into a black page).

I finished up the Castle Church this morning. I really like this one. The pictures don't do it justice. I couldn't use my photo booth for the pictures because the church is just too tall for it. It's also available on my store. Link in comments.

@PrimevalFantasy I am going on my 4th year of conventions now with 2 regulars each year and looking at adding a 3rd. I go there as a vendor though so I am there to work, not play games. Honestly I have an awesome time just meeting and talking with all kinds of people I normally wouldn't meet.

I've never been to a Con. I doubt I'd really enjoy the RPing bcz of several factors, esp the time-limit. But I'm wondering if such restricted windows for a game would be the exception to my rule of "no modules". Meh.

Well, the Volo’s Guides are done. What’s next? Funny, even with hand cut and applied labels I can still line up my spines better than WOTC does! 🤣

@OldWorldHermit Spelljammer and Planescape for me. I now have the Planescape box set and the Spelljammer box set in POD. Still not sure i'll ever get to trying them out.

What is one #ttrpg setting that you could never "get into" no matter how hard you tried? For me it's Spelljammer. It's too chaotic. Too all over the place. I also find that the main selling point, the Spelljammers themselves, are mostly silly looking. #dnd

Volo’s Guide to the North is printed and bound. That is both of the ones that don’t have POD options. Not sure if I’ll print the rest or buy the PODs.

@GrampsToolshed My group tried it with Deadlands. They loved the setting but some of the guys couldn't grasp the rules and how it played. They are just too familiar with AD&D and tried to play it the same way.

Ok, I'll bite - For a game that's made it 30 years, is super easy to learn, has high quality books and material, has a ton of highly popular IP's and a million smaller ones........ Why doesn't Savage Worlds get much love? Outside of core players, I rarely ever hear of it. 🤷‍♂️🤔

Playing with the binder tonight. I don't have any of the 6 Forgotten Realms Volo's guides. 4 are available POD, the other two are a bit pricey and most on Ebay are beat up. So figured I would try this. Maybe i'll print the cover in color and add it later.

@DungeonNoir Where is the AD&D 2E option on that poll though? I love both OSE and Shadowdark but I think Ravenloft and Darksun would be better run in 2E as they are written.

Who's played the Challenge series before? Did you run them as 1 on 1 or change them for a group? What did you think and are they worth the effort?

@MrQuestX @newbiedm That is fantastic but I think you are the exception rather than the norm. I doubt most 5E players that have never experienced other games or editions are even looking to read and learn other games. Kudos on you. You really should try to get into a BX game and experience it.

@RetroGamer_Meph @newbiedm I started and still play 5e. But if it wasn’t for reading B/X and some early modules, I don’t think I would understand how the game actually works.
