We are thrilled to announce Emma as our Volunteer of the Month for February, in recognition of her ongoing commitment to the Mentoring Programme 🫶🎉 Emma began her journey as an @intademscot Mentor with Right There in May 2025. Since then, she has become a calming, supportive and positive presence in her mentee, A’s life. A says “Emma is very kind and a good friend. We have plenty of laughs and I feel we can talk about most things. I enjoy my time with her”. A’s mum adds “Emma has been fantastic with A. She has helped and encouraged him to venture outdoors and visit places he has never been. She creates wonderful memories just for him. The mentoring service has been life changing. Thank you” Thank you, Emma, for the massive difference that you make in your mentee’s life! 💛

A huge well done to David Gillespie, one of our Mentoring Coordinators, who returned to his former university this week to take part in an Alumni Careers Session. He spoke with BSc and MSc Psychology students about his journey since graduating and the path that led him to his work today. Since joining Right There, David has worn many hats - from volunteer Mentor, to Family Support Worker, to now being a key member of our Mentoring Coordination team (all while continuing to volunteer as a Mentor himself!). We’re incredibly grateful for his ongoing commitment to the people we support. David is a brilliant example of the difference one person can make 😄

Another great session underway at #SCVOGathering, where our Head of Children and Families, Sara Ali, is joining Aberlour, Action for Children and Includem for a roundtable discussion as the four lead providers of the Glasgow Intensive Family Support Service (GIFSS). GIFSS is an innovative approach delivering intensive family support for young people aged 12+ who are on the edge of care - helping them remain at home, within their families and communities, where they can thrive. Support also extends to their brothers and sisters, including those under 12. Today’s roundtable is an opportunity to reflect on the learning from GIFSS and explore how this insight can inform areas of need across Scotland 💛

A huge well done to our Head of Children and Families, Sara Ali, who presented at this afternoon’s #SCVOGathering alongside Alison McIntyre (Barnardo’s), Liann Weir (Action for Children) and Maxine Hawthorn (Aberlour). Together, they shared the incredible impact of the Common Ground pilot in Glasgow City Centre - providing a safe space and vital street outreach for young people 💛
