can someone please post a controversial manufacturing take so I can argue with it? The TL is feeling stale. Thanks

@Jordan_W_Taylor @Jordan_W_Taylor Rivelin's software, NetShape®, teaches robots to cut, grip, grind, deburr, polish and inspect metal. You can see it in action in Kelham Island, if you fancy?

Robotic grind & deburring. Using sophisticated methods to transform surface scan data into grinding paths, the NAMRC demonstrated fuel rack & other assembly robotic grind & deburr and even eliminated the CAM stage entirely, letting the robot work directly from scan data.

We owe our world to those who build... In Sheffield lives an organization you have never heard of, that could help change the world and how it generates energy. It's called the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, or NAMRC, and here are some of it's projects...

Scan-to-CAM. Nuclear forged billets are uneven, so rough machining spends a lot of time cutting air. By combining a 3D scan with specialist software, and optimizing feeds & speeds through vibration mapping, rough machining times were cut 40% in early trials at the Nuclear AMRC

@unitoio Is there someone in your customer support team who actually gives a damn about supporting customers?

@shantirrao Sounds familiar to us! Traction, growth and therefore lack of time is definitely a good problem to have. And fixing it is a process all winners have to go through.

Met with the founders of one of my angel investments today. Was worried because I hadn’t heard from them in a while. Turns out they were just too busy taking inbound sales calls and delivering on pilot studies.
