@PaulEmbery Peak drinking time is late afternoon and early evening. You're home before the dick heads are out and you can sleep it off enough not to write off the following day.

When I was growing up, pubs would often be rammed until closing time (not so much during the week, but certainly at weekends). The bell for “last orders” would usually spark a rush to the bar. These days, even the most popular pubs seem to start emptying out around 8.00-9.00pm, including on Fridays and Saturdays. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon? Is there a reason for it?

My all time favorite dinner to make: Chicken Udon with a side of cucumber kimchi. I don't add the boiled egg you get in restaurants, but I do normally add shiitake mushrooms. Still, yum 😋

@TheVikingDane All depends on the consistency of the jam. A set jam needs to be spread first then cream dolopped on top. Runny jam can almost be poured on top of the cream.

Something is smelling suspiciously bad with @YouTube / @TeamYouTube. My last two chats with neurosurgeon Kevin Tracey and former science editor Nicholas Wade have garnered much fewer views than usual. Am I being shadow banned again?

On the holiest day of the year we are attacked at a Manchester synagogue. Our children walk to school behind barbed wire protected by guns. Yet some still answer this atrocity with “what about…” This is my country, the sanctuary my grandfather found after surviving the Holocaust, promising freedom under the rule of law. Today I pray for the victims, thank the brave who responded and wonder if that promise is fading. A community this small cannot stand alone. If you believe in Britain (wherever you’re from & whatever your faith) you must stand with us. Many Jews cannot imagine a future here and history tells us what follows when that happens.
