This year has been full of achievements for me – I completed my PhD, passed the FRCS (complete with most expensive tie in the world!) got back into surgical training and was the first UK general surgery trainee to join the @IntuitiveSurg residency to be trained in robotics.

@BigBaldDr Yes, and near impossible to get an endoscopy during covid for reflux without red flags. Should COVID justify operating without pH, manometry, or a scope? should guidelines be changed or more rigidly adhered to?

Is this all COVID related?

Endoscopy is mandatory in the workup of patients for antireflux surgery and has to be carried out in the last year prior to antireflux surgery. ICARUS Guidelines, GUT 2019.
