Après avoir regretté cette intervention et effectué une détransition, elle a poursuivi les praticiens pour manquement aux standards médicaux, notamment un consentement éclairé insuffisant et une évaluation psychologique inadéquate. En janvier 2026, un jury de l’État de New York leur a attribué la responsabilité et a accordé à Fox Varian 2 millions de dollars : 1,6 million pour les souffrances passées et futures, et 400 000 $ pour les frais médicaux à venir.
