Leave it to @AirCanada to delay the flight three times to 12:30am before cancelling it and vaguely saying it may or not be rescheduled to 6am So you’re asking me to get a hotel room but also wake up every hour to check?

She said she was going to the "Witch Markets of La Paz" the next day. 🧙🏼‍♀️ So, I bought a ticket and showed up to the start of the tour. She wasn't there. Was I in the wrong place? 😬 Luckily, after a few minutes she showed up. It rained in the Bolivian cemetery. I used my umbrella to cover her head as we learned about the practice of keeping skulls as keepsakes. 🪦 We took the teleférico to the top of the city, where we saw stalls selling dried, dead llamas. Most unusual first date of my life. At the end of the tour, I had to catch a bus to Uyuni, the land of the great salt flats. 🚌 It was time to go. Thankfully, I got her number at the last minute. 📱 I wouldn't see her again for 15 weeks.

Synchronizing authentication state between a web application and a chrome extension turned out to be way more complicated than I anticipated. Makes me wonder what "off-the-shelf" tools are out there that would have simplified this for me.

I'm leaving BigLaw. 👋 I turn in my laptop at 10am tomorrow. Not everyone has a good experience in big law firms, but I did. Twice - at both Latham & Watkins and DLA Piper. 🙌 I have nothing but gratitude for the people I worked with, from the partners to the first years. In particular, I want to thank Yoni Tuchman for being a mentor, friend, and overall role model. You showed me the way. 🙏 BigLaw isn't perfect (I am leaving after all 😉), but I would start at a big law firm out of law school 10/10 times if I were to do it all over again. ♻️ ➡️You learn a rapid pace alongside razor-sharp colleagues. ➡️You learn to operate under pressure with professionalism and precision. ➡️You make a lot of money for someone your age. It's an invaluable experience. Tomorrow, I'll let you know what I'm up to next...

@REbrandbuilder Option B increase the likelihood a customer returns. The point is to secure 3 visits at full price and then provide a discount. By giving away a discount on all visits you potentially lose out on repeat business and also devalue the product. If every visit is 5% off that is FMV

I think people in BC are just natural explorers. My little sister lives in Squamish. She’s a doc who specializes in the immune system and is always researching and reading on ways to create more resiliency in both the body and mind. So, yesterday we hiked in 5 kms in the snow to a secret sauna on a river. This was her idea of fun 😂 needless to say this was hard. Straight up mountain then down a valley with wood packed on my back, an axe, head lamps, food and water and of course our bathing suits and towels. We kept talking about how I’ve been watching this show “The English” and these people in the Wild West had it so much harder than us. This seemed to be the only thing keeping me going, if whole families did this I can do a small 10km walk in deep snow. So we finally get to the end of the trail and it’s a walk straight down the hill to the sauna, which needed a fire started and stoked and then of course you need water bucket from the river to heat up the sauna. Once we got the warm sauna going she said we have head down to the river to take a dunk and jump back in. Can’t say I was looking forward to this as the ice broke on the edge and I was force into the rushing water. Weirdly you quite warm once you come out of the river. Then it’s time to pack up and head back out. This is a photo of me walking in the dark back down the trail to the car. Needless to say I slept like a baby last night. Thanks to my sister for a little adventure.

Was at a conference this weekend where I heard a horror story. A lesson on international trade and differences in business culture. A business man was at an international tradeshow and was looking to import finger pulsometers (the things they use in hospitals to measure vitals).

But saved himself from bankruptcy and his reputation. Every culture has different views on integrity and what is acceptable in business. Remember who you are doing business with and double check the facts ahead of wiring funds to any business, no matter how big or "trustworthy".

The businessman was devastated, he had sunk $40k into the order and had a customer waiting for this life saving equipment. In the end he found a medical university who were able to purchase for teaching purposes without requiring FDA certification. He still lost $10k on the deal.
