Ryan Poles should be fired. The Bears had one primary job.. get an edge rusher or multiple edge rushers. They got zero. Instead they wasted picks on guys at positions they didn’t need- TE, WR etc. an awful, shameful showing. #chicagobears #nfldraft

@mike_zenci @colincowherd In hindsight I’d say you’re exactly right. Theineman is a good player but as you said there were more safety options later and nothing at edge

@RunIrish74 @colincowherd Drafting a safety in round 1 was a mistake. Should've drafted edge or DT. By 57 the options weren't very good

Jets, Chiefs, Browns have added REALLY GOOD starters. Eagles nailed first three picks. Don’t talk Panthers much but they are building a nice roster. Watching the Niners draft another WR was soooo on brand. Bears, um hey, would you guys consider picking an edge, like maybe soon.

@OllieChgoBears I agree. They seem to be too stubborn to reach for a guy if he’s not exactly their guy. But sometimes you just have to address a need in order to improve. If they had even traded those picks for Thibodeux or someone else it would have been better than wasting them

It’s now how I would have done it mate. I just don’t get the approach personally. From the sounds of Poles press conference - they have a specific type of player they want. And they aren’t afraid to have good players completely off their board if they aren’t that specific type of player. That in my opinion is insane.

This is my issue really. We’ll have to see how it plays out but this is no way of running a draft process. You will miss out on a lot of talent this way that can help you win now. And it’s how you can stack multiple drafts that identify almost no one which sets the team back, similar to the Vikings recently.

Zavion Thomas' speed (4.28 second 40-yard dash) is what drew the Bears to the LSU receiver along with his strengths as a punt returner. Bears assistant college scouting director Francis Saint Paul on Thomas as a returner: "He's fearless back there. He's someone who's not afraid to catch the ball and take it to the house."

The Bears are drafting LSU wide reciver Zavion Thomas with the 89th pick. That's it for Chicago's Day 2 picks. All offense - center, tight end, wide receiver. Ben Johnson's influence on these roster decisions are very apparent once again. The Bears will have to wait until Round 4 to look for a pass rusher.

The Chicago Bears are drafting Iowa center Logan Jones with the 57th pick. With Garrett Bradbury under contract for through the 2026 season, the Bears draft a potential succession plan with the 24-year-old rookie. Jones won the Rimington Award as the nation's top collegiate center.

@ClayTravis I live in NC and the gas is still $4 per gallon for regular unleaded. I keep hearing about prices dropping.. I just haven’t seen proof yet

If you live in California and are upset about gas prices — the taxes are a huge reason why you pay more than everyone else — but, crazily, your state, which could be energy independent, mostly stopped drilling, and instead imports 29% of its gas from the strait of Hormuz. Crazy.
