@rich56ca @justBlakePrice Hughes and Tkachuk are franchise players. Those were the two he was referring to Boeser is not in the same conversation as either of those guys, and neither is Demko. They’re both spare parts, quite frankly - lucky to even have the contracts they do, some dumb GM overpaid

Rutherford brings up Hughes and Tkachuk as examples of US players wanting to go home regardless of team.. Why would Canadian teams draft an American player if this true? Just too big a risk

It is one of my highest conviction trades ever and it has been one of the best performing defense stocks on the market. $EOS.AX is my next one. And I think the setup is actually better. Here is what Electro Optic Systems is for those who are just finding it. An Australian defense company that builds the world's most advanced laser weapons. Not prototypes. Not R&D projects. Deployed, operational, export contracted 100 kilowatt laser systems that no other company outside the US and Israel can offer. They own every single piece of intellectual property. No ITAR restrictions. No US government veto over sales. Sovereign customers in Europe and the Middle East can buy this technology and manufacture it in their own country. That is a capability that does not exist anywhere else on earth. The CEO Dr. Andreas Schwer was a board member of Rheinmetall. Built Saudi Arabia's entire national defense industry from zero. Took over EOS in 2022 when the stock was below A$1 and the company was on death's door. In three years he cleaned the balance sheet, sold the non-core business for A$158 million, tripled the order book to A$459 million, and signed the world's first 100kW laser export contract. The ASIC legal overhang that was hanging over the stock just got settled last week. A$4 million penalty. Done. The cloud is gone. The stock jumped 24% on the news. Retail is just now paying attention. And here is what retail does not know yet. EOS is in active talks with ten European governments right now. Another laser contract award expected in the first half of this year. Two fresh US defense contracts worth $12 million just signed including work for the US Army and a follow on from Northrop Grumman. A 300kW laser contract currently being negotiated that will be entirely customer funded. At 300kW you move from shooting down drones to shooting down rockets and artillery. That is a market 10x larger. The Abrams tank contract with General Dynamics. The CEO said the initial $22 million is just the first slice of something worth "up to $3 billion over 15 years." Europe mobilizing €800 billion in defense spending. France alone just earmarked $42 billion with drones and laser weapons listed as the top priority. EOS's ITAR-free full stack platform is the exact product that mandate was written for. $KRKNF went from $2 to where it is today because nobody was covering it, the thesis was real, and the contracts kept coming. $EOS.AX is at the same stage. The thesis is real. The contracts are coming. Retail is just now showing up. This is the next $KRKNF of X.
