@CrimsonDesert_ Why apologize? AI, in one form or another, will be in every single video game. I don't get why devs feel the need to bend over for the few folks who can't accept the reality that AI will be in every single thing - from video games to your fridge (it already is). Man up.

@SirPikoNeko And they don't even need Power Armor. They could do the Star Wars thing and make melee-ists so quick and nimble they can parry an entire barrage of incoming bullets (and of course give them a weapon strong enough to do so). Warframe does BOTH.

@SCRadius05 It would be so easy too. Just give the player a bullet-resistant (not bullet-proof, cuz then there'd be NO challenge and the game would be boring) power suit and a badass laser sword (or any other kind of sci-fi melee weapon) and let 'em loose. No need for a realistic approach.

This is because Melee requires a lot more motion than shooting does, and movement attracts attention and elicits a greater feeling of "action" and adrenaline. We like to see heroes trying their best and you HAVE to try your best to get anything done with melee.

Melee combat is just more compelling both from an entertaining and a narrative stand point. That's why most sci-fi franchises come up with fun ways to justify close quarters action.

This is why, no matter what, melee will always look and feel cooler. And I appreciate any creator making a sci-fi work who has the balls to acknowledge this and try to incorporate it into their setting instead of going "Nah, logically speaking everyone would just use guns".

All this to say that it's not fair to write off everyone's opinions just because "they heard it from someone else". This is the entire point of reviews and word-of-mouth from friends. So that people can cobble together an informed opinion without wasting money.

For me, I would say it depends on who that YouTuber is and why you watch them. If that person is a reviewer you trust, or if that person ISN'T a reviewer but generally shares the same tastes in gaming ANYWAY, there's a good chance you are, in fact, making an informed decision.
