Life is like a bedpan, cold and full of shit. I'm a father, a husband, an IT grunt, and a Vocalist/drummer. I like ice cream and smiles with darkness for miles.

•The U.S. Senate may hold a floor vote TODAY which would overturn a 20-year moratorium on sulfide-ore copper mining on 225,000 acres of Superior National Forest land in the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) Wilderness in northern Minnesota. The Boundary Waters is the most visited Wilderness in the United States.  🛶 Enjoying the Minnesotan/Canadian wilderness by canoe or other lesser watercraft is one of our nations greatest available pastimes, and one I have personally enjoyed my entire life. We must protect these public lands from the rapacious capitalists threatening to turn them into a poisoned wasteland. •This vote in Congress would open the door to copper mining at the headwaters of this entire ecosystem. This kind of mining produces toxic pollution, including acid runoff and heavy metals, that can contaminate nearby waters. •The Boundary Waters supports a major outdoor economy that sustains thousands of jobs and generates over a billion dollars a year - built on clean water and intact public lands. But this vote would clear the way for toxic mining that puts all of that at risk. It would also set a dangerous precedent, making it easier to roll back protections for public lands across the country, including wilderness areas, national monuments, and national parks.  •This is a defining moment. If you care about clean water, public lands, and protecting places we can’t replace, now is the time to speak up. •Protect the Boundary Waters, and vote NO on House Joint Resolution 140. Let’s save this treasured place for all of us—forever. on.nrdc.org/4csRkwi

The problem isn’t that Byron Noem, disgraced former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s husband, likes to entertain himself by dressing like a woman. The problem is that he does so while the people he associates with make trans people feel like they don’t belong in our society. That’s rank hypocrisy. #byronnoem #kristinoem #southdakota #northdakota #politics

Let me explain what just happened 👇 5 minutes before the President announced a halt to attacks on Iran… someone placed a $1.5 BILLION bet on stocks going up and dumped $192 million in oil. 5 minutes… These trades were 4 to 6 times larger than anything else in the entire market. Whoever did this wasn’t guessing. You don’t risk $1.5 billion on a hunch. There was zero public indication this announcement was coming. No leaks. No press. Nothing. The only people who knew were in the room when the decision was made. Someone in that room picked up a phone. And within minutes they made more money than most Americans will earn in a thousand lifetimes. In a single trade. On a war that cost you $4+ a gallon gas and $16 billion in tax dollars. American citizens funded this war. Politicians are profiting from it. This is not the first time. Every major announcement from this administration has had massive suspicious trades right before it dropped. Tariff reversals. Policy shifts. War decisions. This is the most blatant insider trading operation in the history of American politics. It’s not even close. And it’s happening over and over in broad daylight. You would go to federal prison for trading on a tip from your cousin. These people are front running war decisions with billion dollar bets and nobody will ever ask a single question. Nobody will be investigated. Nobody will be charged. By tomorrow this will be buried under the next satisfying headline. Just like last time. And the time before that. The game is rigged. And they’re not even trying to hide it anymore…

BREAKING: Just five minutes before Trump's announcement to halt the attacks on Iran, massive trades reportedly hit the market. In one move, $1.5 billion in S&P 500 (ES) futures was bought while $192 million in oil (CL) futures was sold. These orders were 4–6x larger than anything else at the time. The trader seemingly made huge gains. Unusual.

We’re watching a country that took out the Pentagon’s billion-dollar radar node, forced CENTCOM into emergency posture, burned through U.S. interceptor reserves, and still coordinated multi-front operations with Hezbollah, Iraqi groups, and Yemen, all while maintaining internal continuity, issuing synchronized statements, and running a fully functioning command structure under the heaviest military pressure Iran has ever faced. If Iran’s leadership were “dead,” if its military “couldn’t communicate,” if the Assembly of Experts were “missing or hiding,” you wouldn’t be seeing precision strikes on Gulf bases, Hezbollah launching timed attrition barrages in sync with Iranian fire, Iraqi resistance hitting Erbil and U.S. positions, Iranian air defenses downing Herons and MQ-9s, or daily life continuing in Tehran without collapse. Decapitation produces fragmentation. What we’re seeing is coordination, sequencing, message discipline, and consistent operational tempo. The only people collapsing under pressure are the ones watching their assumptions fall apart. Hegseth is coping. He’s watching a regional order he thought was permanent get rewritten in a week, and the only story he can cling to is the fantasy where Iran is already defeated.

🙄 Actually I received my wings but I’m sure facts don’t matter to you; it’s all about the vitriol. It’s so refreshing to find someone of your mental prowess online. Usually one would have to go to a flat-earth convention to find this level of confidence unburdened by evidence. Have a good day, Sporto. 😑

posted on substack by a person named Teri Leigh I’m writing this from Minnesota. These are just a few things that may not be making the national or international news. a beloved local donut shop Glam Doll Donuts across the street from where Alex Pretti died turned into a warming house and medic center for protestors building and maintaining the memorial site. a 70yo independent bookstore owner DreamHaven Books down the street expressed his pain on camera, walked through a tear gas cloud, and his website crashed less than 24 hours later from too much business and donations. the day after tear gas bombs destroyed a N-Mpls neighborhood sending a 6mo old baby to the hospital, at daybreak, a small church community cleaned up the mess of pepper balls, tear gas containers and trash so the neighbors didn’t have to wake up to the memories. a local independent journalist Mercado Media pounding the streets everyday reporting things from the ground had a testicle removed and showed up two days later to walk with 75,000+ community members to walk the streets in -20 degree weather. a local sex-positive adult-store The Smitten Kitten has completely transformed into a donation and distribution center. a local pizza place Wrecktangle Pizza raised over $83K in less than a few days to support families that are sheltering in place. tow-truck companies are donating their services to clean up the accidents and abandoned vehicles left by ICE and the city is waiving impound fees. local multi-faith spiritual leaders are spearheading sit-ins at corporate headquarters such as Target and USBank to have deeper conversations with CEOs and boards of directors about community relief. social workers are taking in children who came home from school with both their parents “disappeared.” animal shelters and pet-fostering agencies are rescuing pets left alone for days or weeks after their humans were detained. every restaurant, church, karate dojo, dance studio, school, barber shop, and other small business has created their own underground grassroots supportive network to protect their neighbors, get people to and from work, and raise funds to pay everyday bills. women who are moms and work full-time jobs are donning reflective vests in shifts to stand watch at bus stops, city parks, and grocery store parking lots ini sub-zero temps to bear witness before going home to tuck their babies in at night. the MN National Guard offered donuts, coffee, and hot cocoa to peaceful protesters the day after Alex Pretti died, reminding community that we are all in this together and they are here to keep the peace. These are just a few examples. Stories like this are happening in the hundreds here, every single day! Community is EVERYTHING! This Substack community and the MN-Strong resistance has saved my mental health these last weeks. Thank you for reading. Thank you for giving a shit. I love you.

I’m a Marine Corp veteran, trained by LEOs when I served in US embassies on how to handle unruly individuals or protestors. 1) If you are the guys with guns, you are the ones responsible for the situation. Doubly so if you outnumber the person you’re engaging. 2) You do not need to use force except to control the situation in order to deescalate it. Minimal force required. 3) You are NOT here to look for excuses to use more force. Even if the person gives you an excuse which “justifies” using force, that doesn’t mean using force is de facto the right move. 4) “Let the other person retreat” often resolves the situation just fine! Don’t surround people, back them up against a wall, etc. Your job is to control the situation. “I put myself stupidly in danger” is not an excuse to escalate “because I’m in danger.” 5) People will feed off of your energy. If you come rolling up like a fascist thug ready to break skulls, people will meet you at that level. If you show up calm, professional, and having a friendly chat, often that brings the temperature down. Everything I see from ICE agents is they are relishing violence and exercising power, needlessly escalating situations, looking for opportunities to shoot their weapons and beat the shit out of people.
