A nigerian journalist was getting too close to a story that would implicate the military president and his wife in drug trafficking. The military intelligence called him in for questioning. Two days later they called his house to confirm he was home. 40 minutes after that call a parcel arrived at his door. It was marked “From the Commander in Chief.” His young son brought it to him at the breakfast table. Giwa the journalist said “this must be from the President” and tried to open it. It exploded on his lap. 💔 His last words on the way to hospital were “they have got me.” He died at 39. Nobody has been convicted 39 years later.
