Dr. Hope Rivers is breaking barriers as a first-generation college student and the first Black and female president of @piedmont_tech. From Whitmire, SC, Dr. Rivers represents the largest area in the SC Technical College System. Under her leadership, the Fall 2025 semester saw the highest course success rate in the college’s history. #WomensHistoryMonth

Standing in Charleston, where Robert Smalls sailed himself from slavery to freedom, reminded all of us that the promise of America is not just a place, it is an idea, a story, and a people.
