@Pefreedom0 @pb_and_jaybird Usually we refer to evidence of gonads for determining sex, otherwise a male that cant produce viable sperm is what, a different sex altogether? If a women cant produce viable eggs and a man cant produce viable sperm, are they then the same sex? 2/2

@Pefreedom0 @pb_and_jaybird I don't believe that viable gamete are necessary to consider an organism hermaphroditic. If a typically hermaphrodite organism is born that has defects preventing it from producing either gamete, is it no longer a hermaphrodite? 1/2

@Aphotic_0ne @ProgChris @pb_and_jaybird I wouldn't call it a deformation. The most common of these mutations, are unnoticeable without genetic testing. My point is that the OP suggests that Males have XY chromosomes. This is not true. You are clearly aware of this as you reference the possible X,XXY, etc

@50blackmoms @ProgChris @pb_and_jaybird With regards to gender trans- reflects if you identify with your assigned gender at birth. I think if you recognize that some one has chimerism, you should see them expressing both sexes at once. 1/2

@ProgChris @pb_and_jaybird Sex is not as simply as XX = male & XY = female as the quoted image implies. Can you explain why you think someone with chimerism wouldn't be trans? Trans is the opposite of cis, and the cis genders are male sex and gender and female sex and gender.

@pb_and_jaybird Apart from true chimerism, which is an extremely rare abnormality where the person has 2 sets of DNA within them (still only male or female) sex can be determined by observing the sex chromosome. A person with chimerism is still not trans.

@pb_and_jaybird What's the advanced biology ? Except for the fractional genetic abnormalities that are the "intersex" and some others exceptions. There is no such thing as 3rd human gender.

@DavidX881548150 @pb_and_jaybird You literally proved our point in your comment. We know that the overwhelming majority humans are male or female, but that is not an absolute. The idea that humans are either male with XY or female with XX is not correct.

@pb_and_jaybird Friend of mine is a micro biologist, PhD, agrees that we are either male or female and anything else is an anomaly. What's your advanced biology? Perhaps written by retards that try to force it to fit a narrative

@Pefreedom0 @pb_and_jaybird That is not what this post is about, OP didnt say anything about there being any number of sexes. Also, that is not true. There are species that are hermaphroditic, species that switch between producing sperm and eggs. And a single human can rarely produce both sperm and eggs.

@pb_and_jaybird Advanced biology states that there are only two sexes. Those are of the nature to produce small gametes males, and those who are of the nature to produce large gametes are female. Hope that helps.

@JamesCanaryII @pb_and_jaybird Genetic variance IS a feature. It is crucial to the survival of life. There is no system that checks if what is being changed is valid. It either makes it through development or it doesn't. The existence of X, XXY, etc karyotypes are valid, and fertile, combinations.

@pb_and_jaybird Trаnnies will say “advanced biology” and what they mean is that the machine of reproduction can fuck up something (eg XXY). They’re genuinely trying to say “it’s not a bug it’s a feature” 💀💀

@Omnifarious0 @pb_and_jaybird You are incorrect: Plants with seeds produce immobile sperm. & There are many cultures throughout history that have more than the 2 genders. Many also recognize the ability to transition between genders.

Advanced biology, in every organism that engages in sexual reproduction and has sex cells (aka gametes) that have distinct types, there is always two. One type is large and sessile, the other is small and motile. For organisms that produce only one kind during a given period, which is almost all animals, the behaviour of that animal can be predicted by the variety of gamete they produce. For mammals and birds in particular, an animal is almost always born with the potential to produce only one kind of gamete and the kind they produce never changes during the lifetime of the animal. The kind of gamete the animal has the potential to produce determines its sex, even if intervention or developmental issues prevent that potential from ever being realized. The correlation between behavior and gamete type is so strong you can generally infer gamete type from behavior. In humans, this complex of behavioral cues is what we use for "man" or "woman". This is so universal that no culture on Earth has ever failed to make this distinction. In humans, the potential to make particular kinds of gametes is typically determined by the chromosomal make-up of the zygote. This is not universally true, but it's extremely rare to the point of only a few existing in the world for someone to have the potential to produce both kinds of gametes. And there's never been a case of self-fertilization.

@Steven_Precourt @pb_and_jaybird The quoted picture is attempting to reduce sex and gender to one. Sex is biological and more complex than xx vs xy. Gender is social and also very complex.

@EvilCirno @pb_and_jaybird This is not true. The basics typically teach the most common, simplest explanation that is still useful. It is true that most of the time your sex is a product of xx vs xy. It is not true that that is ALWAYS the case. "Advanced" biology teachs you why and how.

@pb_and_jaybird Except biology isn't taught with lies for children. What is true in basic biology is still true in advanced biology. And last time I checked changing your chromosomes is so impossible with out current understanding that it might as well be magic to us.

@ChairForce1 @pb_and_jaybird If you are not offended by trans people's existence, which is to say you understand and accept the premise of what it means to be trans. Then you would have to agree that trans women are women, but you are suggesting that trans women are men, so you would be offended by them.

@pb_and_jaybird Very few people in the broad spectrum are offended by their existence. They are however offended by their insistence of men joining women's sports, and sharing bathrooms
