I think the next game I'll be making, if any, is going to be an action game. People don't realize making an RPG is a lot, especially if you're doing it alone. I have to, but not limited to: - Balance enemies - Constantly make sure sprites and graphics stay together and update as needed - Make sure the code doesn't break, dear god, it's a hassle - Plan cut scenes and story while juggling all this - Find good music and sound effects, make sure it lines up the mood with your vision so it's not like JoJo's Bazaar Adventure all over the place - Then you have to make sure you're constantly working; half of your day is gone at the cost of making your vision come true In the end, is it worth it? Fuck yeah it is.

Garry from Garry’s mod closed a deal with Valve to make a polished version of source2 SDK available to the public. From what I understand, this means ‘regular people’ can create and publish games on Steam using the Source 2 engine, royalty free! (Not april fool’s joke)

This indie dev is making a stick-figure style beat ’em up inspired by Sleeping Dogs, God Hand, and old Xiao Xiao flash animations. This looks incredible! - Comic-style combat - Brutal & cinematic finishers - Crazy combos & counters It's called Stickman Mayhem.

For those who've not seen it by the way, Andrew here basically made an awesome Smash Bros Melee inspired fangame from PSO2 and SEGA assets. It's been at some irl events and it's got Miku, Sonic chars, and all sorts of Sega stuff past the PSO2 bits. Highly recommend.
