Incredible performance here from Charles Barkley. He ignores a question from Bruce Pearl, says he's glad he's not in the studio because people are looking for him, and that TNT security is so cheap that everyone has the same code in the office.

@BenAxelrod While OSU has struggled since firing him I think his tenure at Butler shows it was the correct move. The trajectory of his final few OSU years was clear, probably largely the result of his back issues. Such a shame bc if he stayed healthy he could have been an all time cbb coach

In retrospect, it's kind of wild that Ohio State fired Matta after missing the NCAA Tournament twice. The Buckeyes have missed the tournament four times in the nine seasons since and have yet to make it past the second round.

Top-2 seed in the tournament 6 out of 8 years 2006-2013, including four straight from 2010-13. Seems unfathomable just a decade later.

What a run for Matta. It'll probably never get better for Buckeye fans than his 9-year stretch from '07-'15, where it seemed like Bucks were playing for either a B1G regular season title or conference tournament title every year. Bonus points for running Duke out of the gym in the '11-12 season in front of Vitale and building an actual homecourt advantage at the Schott, which hasn't been replicated sense.

Fun story line should Purdue face Missouri in the second round.
In March 2011, Matt Painter was courted heavily by Mizzou to replace Mike Anderson. Some reported it as a done deal.
But Purdue stepped up and retained Painter. Mizzou pivoted to Frank Haith.
