@BayeroDeen88 In modern football, we hardly see midfielders tracking back as the "only option" in transition, it happens but not always! That's why my ideal team will have pacey Centre Backs and full backs as well!

@ShadrachOladele I'll rate this a 7/10 it would struggle with defensive transitions tracking runners from deep and would fail if they face a high energy midfield

I disagree. Because we beat them yesterday doesn't hide the work Declan Rice does for his team, he might have had a bad game but he's a box to box midfielder! He makes tackles if he has to, covers grounds offensively & defensively, covers wide channels as well! If only he was 🩵

He is not a Defensive Midfielder (destroyer/Ball winner who protects the defence and break up attacks) e.g Ngolo Kante and Casemiro. He’s not an Advanced play maker (creative midfielder) e.g Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne. He’s not a Mezzala (an attacking central midfielder who drifts into half spaces to support attack) e.g Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio. He’s not a Carrilero (a midfielder who covers wide spaces and supports both full backs and midfield) e.g Arturo Vidal. He’s not a Trequartista (Operates between midfield and attack with freedom) e.g Francesco Totti. He runs the whole field busy doing nothing. Just burning calories. Hiding Midfielder.
