My five positives from the night for @CarltonFC 1 - The effort from the team - almost all have never shirked the task. 2 - Pitto has rucked tirelessly. Continues his strong form. 3 - Harry’s contesting. He didn’t clunk many but brought the ball to ground a lot.

Starting Cripps on the bench in the second term has proven to be a fucking disastrous call. Dominated the centre bounce like few players can in the first, is off the ground when play resumes and the Crows seize the initiative and momentum. Great call. #AFLCrowsBlues

@NicNegrepontis Flynn Young has to play next week - pure and simple. Dropping Hayward- I’d have to sleep on that. Florent has not been good either - lots of turnovers and bad decision making. Mind you he’s not a Lone Ranger on that front.

Is it a knee jerk reaction to say Carlton should drop Will Hayward? Handed away two goals. Zero impact. Hasn’t been particularly impressive this season. Would give Flynn Young a go, for whatever it matters.

@DenisRobeson The rot set in half way through 2024 - the period from mid 23 to mid 24 we looked absolutely primed to challenge for a flag. The freefall has been incredibly dramatic since then. Some players look cooked physically, most players look cooked mentally.

@emmalouiseprho1 You are 100% right Em, we copped some shocking decisions today but ultimately we lost for other reasons.

I’ll also add the umpiring was fking atrocious. But unfortunately for Vossy this pain we’ve endured more often than not over the past 5 years, the lack of development in systems, the amount of times we look like we’re making the wrong decisions. Learned behaviours.

We won’t do anything though, because they’ve backed him in at the end of last year and 4 games in to do it now they’ll look like idiots. So let’s just keep letting it rot. Cos that’ll certainly be beneficial for the players going forward.

@DenisRobeson Something has to change. Our game plan, based around contested ball and clearance, doesn’t stand up for extended periods. We should only have one of Cripps, Hewett or Cerra at centre ball ups. How many times are they getting caught in possession?
