“We need a new foreign policy that says we oughta mind our own business, bring our troops home, defend this country, defend our borders.”
— @RonPaul in 2007 in the GOP debates
Watching this debate is always so bittersweet, but it’s even worse now that the Iran war has started. Listen and remember that the GOP sided with John McCain and Mitt Romney over this guy.
“We dug a hole for ourselves, and we dug a hole for our party. We’re losing elections, and we’re going down [in 2008] if we don't change it, and it has all to do with foreign policy, and we have to wake up to this fact.”
As predicted, the GOP went on to lose in 2008 while Obama was pretending to be the peace candidate. Obama’s foreign policy record was Syria, Libya, Ukraine, Yemen, Iraq, killing 90% of civilians in drone strikes, etc.
We had so many off-ramps. We should’ve listened.

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 Nope. My point is that you were asking for deportation without passing a bill! That is the jungle populism I was talking about
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 "why dont you get your congressmen to pass a bill"
"lol doing that is jungle populism"
try to be consistent.

Asia wasn’t “less colonized” than Africa. The difference is how colonialism was structured.
In much of Africa, colonial rule was built around extraction: steal labor, minerals, and land, and leave weak institutions behind. Borders were drawn with zero regard for nations or stability.
In parts of Asia, colonialism was also brutal, but some regions inherited stronger state systems, larger industrial bases, higher population density, and earlier centralized institutions that could be rebuilt after independence. Several Asian countries also received Cold War investment because the West wanted them as anti-communist showcases.
So no, Africa isn’t “behind” because Africans are worse. It’s because colonialism didn’t damage every region in the exact same way—and Africa was carved up for maximum extraction, not development.
Nathan 🔎@NathanpmYoung
I don't think colonialism explains why Africa has such low growth. Asia had colonialism too.

america is one of very few countries that has even tried to build a multiethnic democracy at scale, & the fact that it has a visible, loud, ongoing discourse about racism is actually evidence of relatively low tolerance for it compared to countries where racial hierarchy is just... ambient & unremarked upon.
japan (lol very obvious now), korea, much of europe, india's caste system, han chauvinism in china, ethnic dynamics across the gulf states.. most of these societies don't even have the vocabulary for the conversation america tortures itself over daily.
america is quite literally is one of the least if not the least racist countries on the planet, & it's not even close.
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 According to white culture, due process and rule of law is important. Go get a bill pass getting the consent of the people as preached by classical liberalism founding fathers of America. What u are asking for now is jungle populism, very anti individualism of founding fathers ☺️
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 I suppose its possible we could get a bill criminalizing indian dancing in western government buildings. Whether its legal or not has little bearing on it being offensive and rude.
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 It isn't. Lots of people adopt American culture. Dress American . Thanks to Hollywood influence. u just a white American in countrytown Idaho who has never traveled out of the US other than some military deployment somewhere in the Gulf of Afghanistan. ur world view is so myopic
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 dressing up in cowboy attire and square dancing in india's capitol buildings as a performance would be highly inappropriate and rude of the host nation.
These jeets need to a yeet back to curryland.
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 Lobby ur congressman to pass a bill criminalizing such dance. Until then you remain a cry baby nativist. You are a white man. I expected a higher IQ argument to make your point rather than this childish cries and complaints. I thought white people had the highest IQ? Don't they?
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 They're performatively engaging in indian culture inside a western nation's capitol building. They should be deported for it.
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 Dancing is now a bad behavior. What should they do? Tap dance to country music or vianese waltz to classical music? Dude you are just a cry baby snowflake. Come up with better evidence for your argument. This is so poor and low IQ as well. The best you can do with white man IQ?
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 Except Im pointing out their behavior not their skin color.
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 That fine. But unfortunately for you, people with your isolationist mentality are in the minority. Again consensus. Go build it. Right now you are on the losing side of it!
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 Even if it were true that it was just about "skin color", all ethnic groups have a universal recognized right of self determination.
if group A doesnt want members of group B in group A's space, group A doesnt have to have them there.

@panthemanii @Lovecangive1 It can be a strength when these multi-cultures exist on a matrix of a dominant culture. If the cultures are incompatible and competing, that is chaos. It success when you build syncretism of cultures against a dominant one eg. Mix india+British, Nigeria+British, Chinese+British
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 I always thought multiculturalism, multi-ethnicism and diversity is a strength.
English

@iri_bekentu @Lovecangive1 Nope it shows that the development was not institutional and thus short lived. Libya is actually a counter example where a benovelent dictator used his sheer will of force to develop the country against the debt of ethnic diversity. It is not the norm. It is the exception
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 Development is measured by HDI. Based on that metric, Libya was a highly developed country. 0.9
War can destroy any development and develop country. It happened to Germany, to Japan.
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 u are a clown if this is your evidence of not assimilating. You have no cogent point other than I just don't like your skin color. This is a joke! When they refuse to speak English or be held accountable for their actions by English common law or go against the bill of right lmk

"When missiles are falling on schools and hospitals, when Israel commits a genocide in Gaza, we call it by its name, and we do everything in our power to bring it to an end".
New leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party (NDP), Avi Lewis, a long-time supporter of the Palestine solidarity movement from a socialist, anti-Zionist Jewish tradition, used his first speech to condemn Israel’s genocide in Gaza and the illegal US-Israel war on Iran.

@iri_bekentu @Lovecangive1 Actually the quick disintegration of Libya after the string hold of Gaddafi proves the point that it was never a united country. It perhaps did have a benovelent strong leader holding it together. That is not sustainable as once the leader is removed, the country collapses!
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 Libya under Gaddafi was a developed country.
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 There was a recent thread of African parents warning their kids not to hang out with foundational black Americans. There is beef like the tweet below. You are just too racist to even know what is happening cause you can't see beyond skin color sadly
x.com/dijoni/status/…
Don Salmon@dijoni
I do not want any members of the FBA movement follow my account. I do not subscribe to hatred against other Black people.. I do not subscribe to the division. I do not subscribe to the xenophobia against African people.. and I do not subscribe to anti-black philosophy that Tariq and his racist movement promoting. It is not about reparation for black Americans.. It’s about getting comfortable ever with hate speech.
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 Ironically many immigrants actually integrate and want to adopt white culture. BLM folks have serious beef with African immigrants for this. The reason you arent aware is because you are racist. So anything not white is threat. How many Indian or African immigrants are in BLM?
English

@TimTim2091215 @Lovecangive1 If that is the case, you have nothing to be worried about then. You should not be paranoid to the extent of conflating BLM with immigrants. Perhaps the only reason that is happening is that consensus is on their side and so you now see BLM in everybody that doesn't agree with u
English

@SheldonCooperNG @Lovecangive1 Consensus is rapidly turning against BLM. They have their "consensus' in their cultural silos on the internet, and among fringe people, and that's all.
