@jussiemow The ileostomy was created as an emergency life saving surgery for Crohns perforation and peritonitis. Due to Crohns and short bowel, this was a high output stoma leading to severe malnutrition, weight loss, and dehydration requiring recurrent hospitalisations with kidney failure

I myself underwent brain surgery at Addenbrookes, 4 years ago this year, for the removal of a tumour. These surgeons,doctors and nurses are true heroes and my family and I will forever be grateful for the work they do ❤️ #surgeonsattheedgeoflife

Such a tough but fascinating watch... in the space of 12 months I had a kidney transplant and my mum an ileostomy for bowel cancer ... I had this incredible team @CUH_NHS around me... they really have given me my life back #surgeonsattheedgeoflife

Watched #surgeonsattheedgeoflife and was a little confused why having a stoma for this man was so bad and that reconnection was deemed to make it better, very negative about having a stoma implying it made him very unwell. So confused, can anyone shed any light?
