@dasimmerz They actually don’t have the right to do that. EA is very clear that if you use their assets to make CC, said CC must be made free to the public after a certain amount of time.

The one thing the sims community don’t play about is their money. The Sims is already expensive as is. You say you learned about our game, but what you really should’ve learned about was us, and how hard it is to exploit people that have already invested so much.

As a content creator, it’s really frustrating to see this opinion get so much positive reinforcement while including links gets so much shade. Let me explain why we provide CC links instead of just giving you zip files of CC: Most CC creators explicitly state in their TOU not to include their CC files in simdumps or lot downloads. We respect their wishes and hard work by linking back to their pages. These creators spend hours making this content, and most of it is free after a few weeks! Downloading directly from their pages is the least we can do to give them the credit they deserve. Downloading entire folders of CC from other people can mess up your mods folder with duplicates, merged files, and even potential malware. Providing direct links ensures you get the correct, updated files safely. By downloading directly from the creators, you're supporting the CC community as a whole. It encourages them to keep creating and sharing amazing content. We spend hours creating this content, so is it really too much to ask for simmers to spend some extra time downloading directly from the source? It might take a bit more time, but it’s worth it for the safety, quality, and respect of everyone’s hard work. Side Note: this isn't meant to throw shade at creators who include all the CC in their files. I truly respect them as creators and their work as well. This is just to shed some light on why some of us prefer to provide links instead of the actual files.
