@biggieU_U Sometimes a simplified UI can be good but this is just ripped straight from the last game

@AestheticGamer1 R.P.D. should only ever be mentioned in a piece of scrap paper in that game, if at all. Also I'm not playing a REmake of one of, if not the best remake to exist.

I'm trying so hard to be so good & not be rage baited by my Twitter feed showing several people hoping that Resident Evil: 1 Remake as an upcoming remake expands on the history of R.P.D. Police Station. R.P.D. Police Station Resident Evil 1 RE1 I'm being so good, I promise!

@Moerthomore @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude But it's actually more fitting for a narrative like sh2. Yes, you may not need it yourself but to say it's immersion breaking is ridiculous. You'd have to hyperfixate on it for the entire playthrough for it to ruin your experience.

@Simoneet2 @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude No one said they aren't and it was never the point. White cloth is present on every transitory area like hatches or windows. It's everywhere throughout the game and completely break immersion. It's the same thing as yellow paint, just white.

@Moerthomore @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude It's at least less intrusive than the yellow paint and fits with the environment. Plus this is a game about trauma and fears manifesting into monsters and creating complex mazes, who's to say white cloth doesn't help James guide him to his next objective.

@Moerthomore @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude Yes and they're still present like from the original. It's not like they're wrapping the key in white cloth, you still have to solve it yourself. And white cloth is present for less than 0.1% of the game, barely making a difference.

@Moerthomore @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude Small parts where you explore the rooms are still very much present. It's hard for me to believe you even played the remake. Placing the next key item in a part of the room so out of vision is a problem and is only solved with mindlessly walking and pressing interact.

@Simoneet2 @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude Those parts are made for exploration and attention, which both contribute critically to immersing the player into the game world. Also "small parts" where you need to explore the room don't give you justification for garbage game design which is yellow paint or white cloth.

@Apuru_kun @Moerthomore @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude You don't even know I'm referring to silent hill 3. Yes, anyone missing that would be embarrassed to say they missed it. I'm referring to small parts of the games where you'd have to stumble upon said thing to even know it's there. Those parts are not made for critical thinking.

@Moerthomore @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude No? Clues are typically easy to spot but not a random drawer in a desk that's off camera that holds a key item that you need. Exploration is crucial and it's not like the remake is grabbing your hand and leading you to the next place for progression.

@Apuru_kun @Moerthomore @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude I'm simply saying a game like silent hill is pretty easy to get lost in. You'll have to have prior knowledge in games like it to really know where to look and what to look for. Saying it's not hard to get lost is disingenuous when the game is built in that way.

@Simoneet2 @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude Unless you are clinically retarded, there is no possibility "you can't find anything else". Children can do it, even animals do it. You advocate games to cater to someone with an IQ below a house cat.

@Apuru_kun @Moerthomore @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude And I actually like how the original games don't give you many hints of where to go. The remakes don't really change that aspect of the game for me because I'm still checking every area for clues and figuring it out on my own. The game reminding me I missed something is nice.

@Apuru_kun @Moerthomore @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude But what do you do when you can't find anything else? Then you have to check the areas you've already checked before and then the fun is lost. A little sense of direction does nothing to break the fun and can keep it going in many ways.

@Simoneet2 @Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude It does change everything. This white cloth shit in SH2R immediently breaks your immerision because it screams "developers put it there so guide me, it has no other reason to be there". You immedietly reminded that it's a videogame.

@Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude There's a lot of linearity you could argue about both games. The blind hatred for the remake because you couldn't look past one or two parts is making you forget you can be critical about the original also.

@Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude The remake dungeon designs can be linear at moments but there's still plenty of back tracking segments that break it up. They took the very linear labyrinth from the og and made it non linear. The walk to the hospital was also given less linearity by giving you optional goals.

@Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude The original did do a great job with creating the environment in the first place but it's very lacking in retrospect. Both games have their separate flaws and have an equal amount of love put into what they wanted to achieve.

@Apuru_kun @NEEMOAHTOAD @paprikastaude It is a great section but that wasn't really lost in the remake because of 2 second text saying to pay attention to white cloth. Rather they expanded on exploration which encourages players to take in the beginning section more. I can't see how that ruined it in any way.
