RSPB Geltsdale today. Goodness knows what this reserve is about, they've removed all the wire fences that small birds used to sit on. They've put these very large stones on the footpaths and removed the seed feeder cage. Very few small birds and a waste of time for photos

Somewhat counter-intuitively, Edinburgh is farther west than Bristol, and Scotland has the westernmost point in the UK (Ardnamurchan).

Managed to get up Dartmoor for annual lesser spotted woodpecker visit saw 1 bird briefly but it didn't come back.Great to finally meet Judah cracking young chap great knowledge of wildlife, Quick look at mutters moor later & 3 wheatear at distance. @UKbirding @Devonbirds.

Eider at Newgale today, a 1st on my WeBS count here, was a cracker. A Tufted Duck amongst the 100 or so Common Scoter tried hard to make me think it was something else. 19 Red-Throated and 8 Great Northern Diver best of the rest. @PembsBirds
