I've been thinking about this a lot. The timeline still feels incredibly unusual. June 27: Infold reassures everyone that all love interests remain part of the long-term plan. June 30: Valko is suddenly cancelled. Since then we've seen continued cleanup of official Valko content, changes to older content (Spicy cards), cancelled offline events, almost no marketing, and very little communication overall. I don't know what's happening behind the scenes, and I don't want to pretend I do. But this doesn't look like a normal product decision to me. Maybe they're dealing with something they can't publicly discuss yet. Maybe it's internal. Maybe it's external. We simply don't know. That's why I'm not ready to give up hope. which is total stupidity. They made Valko the most popular by canceling him and now the game could be at risk of closing due to the CCP closing them for good or closing due to a lack of profits. :l these people really made a whole mess with real-life consequences for everyone over being sore-players. i think so too, I think they were made to choose between 1) choosing to delete Valko (with a possibility of bringing him back later on IF proven innocent of violating the law AND proving that they are promoting Chinese culture in a positive way) or 2) end the game completely. Idk about you, but option 1 has more hope because at least there's a chance of the game returning. I just pray this whole situation is handled fairly and justice is executed. We can't have the government punishing Infold over false accusations antis made out of spite and we can't have the government limit Chinese games over this... Until Infold gives an official statement that they are removing Valko permanently, I'm planning on continuing to boycott the game (to show investors that releasing Valko as a LI is what we players want) and reaffirm that Infold has been a good representation of Chinese culture through the banners/events LaDS has had over the years. I don't want this game to end over the false accusations that the antis made. Infold is not perfect but they do not deserve to be punished by the government over somethings they did not do (ex. promote grape culture, showing anti-feminist ideas, prioritize "Western culture" over Chinese culture, etc.) The employees are suffering from all of this and it's the least I could do for a game that has brought me so much happiness over these past 2.5 years. Yes. The CCP involvement is serious. People literally think that PPG/Infold can just release Valko and make a statement. I would love that, I would, but they are under strict guidance of the government and are probably being gagged from making statements outside of the cancellation announcements already made.

The damage is bad but I don't think it's beyond repair completely. If they where not allowed to release a statement about the state of the game, the moment they are allowed to they need to address us. If they assure us Valko is coming, and swear to do right by the global and CN community in the future, I can forgive them. If they address the other concerns we have as well, I can forgive them. If they make a greater effort to get merch to us, and other events so we can take part in the culture I will support them. I get morale is low. But honestly the chances of them stealth dropping Valko into 6.0 was low. They had made no official statement about him after the cancelation one. I hold out hope that there is still a light at the end of the tunnel, and that this can have a positive outcome. Call me delulu, but all we have left is hope at this point right?

In my mind, this was always going to be more of a marathon than a sprint. Things are so fucked up over there that I never expected this to be resolved and back to normal in a week. The haters are as loud as ever and the company is clearly still in survival mode. I know it feels hopeless and if you’re leaving now I don’t blame you. We have fought so hard and we are tired. If this is the end of your battle please take comfort in the fact that you were on the right side of history: the side that helped unite a divided community, raised money for good causes and showed his team and everyone behind the game that their work is loved all around the world and that the threats, abuse, and bullying they endured should never have been rewarded or tolerated.
