i hate to admit it but I've been wanting to work for Epic as a concept artist, seeing the company shooting itself in the foot so frequently has made me change my mind long ago already

Hey y'all... Ya so I got laid off too from Fortnite Festival. All I've ever wanted to do was make cool games for people that help them feel a little bit better or happier in their day... It's so sad that it's this hard to do just that.

I was laid off today after 2 years Epic Games.
If you enjoyed the maps in C7S2 or C6S3, The Simpsons mini-season map, or IP collabs like KPOP Demon Hunters, Superman, South Park, Doja Cat, and more, I was the Lead Environment Art and/or Environment Concept Producer for them.

Fuck this shit man everything I've seen Epic do in the last like 6 months has just consistently been bad.

Layoffs blow, I survived a lot of rounds of them at my last job and it just felt worse and worse each time.
The fact that this still happens to the biggest of games and companies makes me sad for the future of the gaming workspace.

Sadly I was impacted by todays layoffs at Epic. Still processing as I just found out like 20 minutes ago.
Probably going to jump straight into the job hunt... if anybody has any leads for Environment Art roles I would greatly appreciate it.

I was impacted by today’s layoffs at Epic. Truly came out of nowhere for me. Right before my birthday, too.
I really liked Epic. Really liked the teams. Really liked what we were doing in music. So it’s all a shock.
Time to breathe for a minute. Then onward and upward.
