@v4mparxie That's exactly what i mean. You jump to conclussions and judge people by a singular thing. Im very left wing and "woke" and still sometimes say mcree instead of cassidy because im still used to it after thousands of hours in ow1. Not because of hate but simply by accident

@fenbyrat My standpoint was more from a general perspective. if someone knows and purposefully uses the wrong pronouns and its not just a slip up then yeah thats not cool. my point was more that, especially with venture, slip ups or genuinely not knowing doesnt mean someone is a bigot

@ballt1ckler No, not everyone is like that, in the case of venture MANY genuinely just dont know and dont care and default to what kind of voice they hear. You make enemies out of people without knowing them that would maybe even be allies

@spacechannelgal Idk i dont see it plastered anywhere. Calling someone they is not limited to nonbinary people and quickly overlooked. Like i said interactions are mostly ignored because competetive people in a competetive game spent their thoughts on different things like tactics and team comp

@SpyronimoL And even then, Venture was marketed as Overwatch’s first Non-binary character before release. If people do it by accident its fine but really the only people who shouldnt know at first are new-comers. Their identity is plastered everywhere

@ilysoli Im not saying they didnt. But its no coincidence almost everyone that doesnt know their nonbinary calls them female. While they tried their best with making them look and sound androgynous they still lean more into female voice and looks

@spacechannelgal Of course there is a sibset of people interested in the lore and bios of characters but most play the game just for the gameplay and couldnt care less about the interactions, the lore or their bios. Its a highly competetive game after all

@SpyronimoL Lots of people listen to in-game interactions? There’s whole videos about it and they wouldn’t keep adding them into the game if “barely anyone listens”. And even if that’s true, Venture also has a non-binary skin and Overwatch’s posts on social media do bring up their identity.

@ilysoli Me and pretty much everyone i know and almost everyone i ever saw talking about it sees their voice and looks as more female. Its the reason most if not all default to female when not knowing any better

@SpyronimoL actually while ventures VA is female yes, their voice is extremely androgynous, i genuinely cannot tell what ventures birth assigned sex is based on appearance or voice

@spacechannelgal Didnt know about the va being nonbinary. Someone already pointed that out and i apologized. Barely anyone listens to the interactions though because the majority only cares about the competetive gameplay part of it amd rather discusses or thinks about tactics instead of pronouns

@SpyronimoL Their pronouns are mentioned in both their characters bio and also in a lot of their voice lines they are either referred to as they or speak about pronouns/make non binary themed jokes with other characters

@unc4nny_X Most people play for the competetive aspect of it and couldnt care less about the lore aspect. If youre not in the bubble you never hear anyone talk about venture. Hell im partly in the bubble and i almost never hear anyone talking about them

No large OW creator or even small wouldn’t not know abt Venture’s pronouns bc no OW creator is playing the game without being on the social media

The mong waiting period was stupid af of them. By directly selling their games on pc the sales would skyrocket

If releasing a title on PC would maximize the gaming experience, we’ll continue to consider that option.” Nishino also said, “Our current main policy is that, for single-player games developed in-house, we will further refine the value of the gaming experience that PlayStation can offer.” He explained why multiplayer titles are treated differently: “We believe it is important for live-service games to reach a wider audience through online multiplayer, so we continue to view releases on both PS5 and PC as the standard.” PlayStation single-player games will remain exclusive to PS5, Sony has not officially said they will never come to PC. The company says it will continue to make decisions based on delivering the best possible experience for each game.

@SpyronimoL Yeh but thats the thing though, it becomes a whole journey to figure out whether that person is actually misgendering cause they dont care, or to be hateful. And then people just stop playing to focus on the moral code people have and dont play the game.
