@crxd_dystopyr @BlenderBrit Nice tip @BlenderBrit ! It is possible to increase the amount of bones and control the influence with drivers - as long as it strikes the air it gives somewhat convincing result. Suitable for organic movements. I am suggesting Geometry nodes or Cloth/Softbody for whip simulation

@BlenderBrit What if you added something (an empty?) for the last/tip bone to be constrained? to so that when it moves to the side it's like free flowing but when close it, it sort of wants to snap to it, that way it looks like it's hitting that point of interest? 🤔

First, it’s not a Midnighter, but… EVIL DEAD RISE: hahahahaholyfuckingshit. 2022 was an incredible year for studio horror, but all I could think was “Just wait until EVIL DEAD RISE.” Lee Cronin’s film is unreal. Watching this at SXSW is going to be a one-of-a-kind experience.

@letkeman Hi Ron. Sorry for the late reply. I used geometry proximity to edges to control the distribution. It doesn't like very sharp corners or small spaces. You can play with the project files bellow.

So, you can create simulations with geometry nodes in the current version of Blender by having two separate objects take the other's geometry as an input, who knew! 'Alien Relic' #Nodevember2022 #geometrynodes #b3d #Eevee #Nodevember

@ca_olin_ @julper Volumetric material is a nice and modern solution! Halo materials were pretty neat feature back then. They are like billboard textures per vertex. I've set up something similar in GN - you can download the file from here:

@Syziph Sorry I was unclear. I have something like that, but I started to dream about the halo from 2.4x, because I wanted these to float more together. I tried to append the rig amd model to old blender to see what it looked like, but it didn't like that :D
