Isolated muscle strength *IS* functional strength! They should never be the focus of your workout...but don’t be afraid to bust out some bro lifts to end your workout or as supersets. It’s tough to put on mass without ISO’s and adding muscle mass is hugely protective.

Often times athletes will avoid training overhead in order to protect against injury. However, I believe they’re doing just the opposite. The nature of the sport requires you to be strong and stable overhead. By neglecting to train overhead you’re putting your arm at extreme risk

Just because you do something often doesn’t mean you’re getting better at it. I drive every day, but I’m not much better now than I was 10 years ago. I cook every day, but I’m not getting any closer to being a gourmet chef. “Showing up” isn’t enough if you want to get better.

Development is pretty simple: Do more. Not gaining weight? Eat more. Trouble putting on mass? Lift more. Trouble gaining velo? Throw more. Not getting feel for new pitches? Spend more time on the mound. Trouble learning something new? Study more.
