If they can't negotiate in good faith then why negotiate with them at all?? 🤔

@LindseyGrahamSC @POTUS Ho can anyone trust this regime? They are not trustworthy. Dot make a mistake @POTUS . Finish the job.

I am very glad to hear from @POTUS that Iranian media reports about the so-called deal are fake because the deal as described by Iran would be awful. President Trump and our military deserve a lot of credit for making Iran the weakest they’ve been since 1979 through a combination of highly effective military strikes and a crushing blockade. However, we must remember the Iranian regime has killed 42,000 of their own people for simply wanting a better life, and their leadership are radical religious Nazis.
As to any potential deal, it must be compared to the JCPOA, and I am hopeful that it will be vastly different. The idea of a $300 billion reconstruction fund, given who is in charge of Iran, seems to be tone deaf. It would be akin to a Marshall Plan for Germany with the Nazis still in charge. That wouldn’t have been a good idea then, and any reconstruction fund that benefits this terrorist regime wouldn’t be a good idea now.
As to the Iranian nuclear program, President Trump’s red line has been no enrichment. I hope that holds — as it must.
Allowing Iran to enrich under the JCPOA was one of the major flaws of that terrible deal. As I’ve stated before, any deal with Iran must come to Congress for scrutiny and approval.

@marklevinshow Trump is desperate for a deal and wants to sell it to the American people as a victory. In reality, it is a humiliating defeat.

It's difficult to discuss an MOU that is not public -- the precise terms of which we do not know. If it is done and will be signed in 48-72 hours, let's see it.
And regardless of the terms, my understanding is that there is another 60-day period of negotiation. I assume that involves the particulars.
My view has not changed because the Iranian regime is what it is -- that is, it will violate whatever final agreement is signed, certainly after the end of the Trump administration. And I doubt any future president, certainly not a Democrat, will enforce it, which would require military action.
We have the enemy where we want it. We may never again. It was right to attack them, and in a few weeks' time they were on their back. We hit the brakes for 9 weeks. First the Israelis and then we went back to military action this week, and the regime was badly damaged beyond the original damage. Rather than destroy it, including arming the Iranian people, we have an MOU and future negotiations.
More later, as we learn some actual facts.

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump has reportedly made the concession that unlocks the deal: Iran's uranium can stay in Iran.
-Per Axios, Trump agreed that one option for resolving the enriched uranium standoff is down-blending the stockpile inside Iran under UN inspector supervision
-That's a major softening from his public demand that the uranium be "DESTROYED" or handed over to the U.S.
-Any nuclear steps only happen under a second, more detailed deal, with the MOU laying out the framework
-The agreed text reopens Hormuz immediately without tolls, restores pre-war shipping within 30 days, lifts the U.S. blockade, and extends the ceasefire 60 days, including Lebanon
-The deal, brokered by Qatar and Pakistan, would be called the Islamabad agreement, with a possible Vance signing ceremony in Geneva
-Mojtaba Khamenei's final sign-off is the last missing piece, and Netanyahu was reportedly left completely in the dark, calling around Washington for information

@EricLDaugh Until yesterday, he was saying that Iran’s leader was making fun of us. Now he says the supreme leader is respectable and rational.🤣

🚨 JUST NOW — REPORTER: You have said before that Iran and the United States were close to a deal. It has not happened yet. Why are you so convinced that this time is different?
PRESIDENT TRUMP: "Because they've taken a pounding. They've taken a pounding like very few people could take. And they want to make the deal a lot more than I do. And we could have had it done the other way, I guess, but it would have taken longer."
"They got hit very hard recently, as you know. And I don't like to have to do things that way, but I felt it was necessary. It's a great deal for the United States and for the Middle East."
"And I think ultimately, it's great for Iran because they'll be able to build up their country and their country. I really believe it's a regime change because I find these people to be much more rational than the people that are no longer with us."
