@TheWayneBruce The whole movie is about the removal of a woman’s autonomy and it starts right here. Bear is dismissing Nikki’s emotions because HE’D rather her like him back. This scene is her attempt to cut the shit and let him know she doesn’t feel the same but he cowers and doesn’t let her.

@TheWayneBruce Common when you’re teasing your friend as well. Yes it’s meant to be mixed but for Bear not the audience. Every other aspect of their relationship shows she’s not interested but Bear chooses to focus on those “hints” because it lines up with what HE wants.

@TheWayneBruce The “hints” are written in a well done way to give bear hope BUT the movie shows the audience that she clearly doesn’t feel the same way. Aside from this scene she also refers to him as a “little brother” and brings up a possible romance between Bear and Sarah to him.

The Jason Todd Theory falls apart really fast when you realize it requires at a degree of cultural knowledge of "Batman's 2nd robin who died who comes back as an anti-hero" that simply did not exist until 2006 at the very least, debatable 2010 with the much more known movie.
