They are bringing @crpfindia in 200 vehicles from Uttar Pradesh to attack you. - Mamata Banerjee This is not just hate speech targeting our CRPF jawans but the vilest form of slander against their honour as the claim was directed at young girls. Where is the Supreme Court?

Sleep deprivation is very common in urban India Rapid urbanization, long commutes, and late work hours mean many adults sleep <6 hours/night, increasing risks of hypertension, diabetes, and poor cognition. I don't know why isn't it a commonly spoken of topic

Mr Bhattacharjya, firstly, thank you for your grace & manners. Unfortunately, it's rare these days for people to debate with an open mind and polite words. Doing so makes discussions productive. Now, on your point of my earlier tweet (with the picture of the text of the 1829 Sati Regulation Act) - many British era acts remained active post independence as well. In such cases, the said Legacy legislation adopted/inherited by States would mention the name of that State, post independence. And finding legacy legislation in modern Indian GOI papers is easier. But I understand if you would like to see original British papers rather than trust the Indian Government's publication. For your kind consideration, I actually sourced a copy of the legislation from the book "The Correspondence of Lord William Cavendish Bentinck Governor General of India 1828-1835" (Oxford University Press). PFA the attached pic to this tweet. You will note that the preamble is exactly the same; the Indian bureaucracy did a good job in transcribing, it appears. The point remains: 1) Sati is banned and should be banned. But, Sati is not a feature of Hinduism and is not considered imperative in our ancient scriptures 2) Sati was very very rarely practiced (as the British themselves acknowledged) 3) Where ever Sati was practiced, Hindus themselves saw it as unlawful and wicked (as the British themselves acknowledged) The question remains: In the very very rare cases where Sati was practiced, why did it begin? It appears to have begun with the invasions (because there was a collective version of Sati as well called Jauhar). Did the brutality and debauchery of the foreign Turkic rulers (mischievously called Islamic invasions by establishment historians) lead to this practice of death before dishonour? Perhaps some unbiased historians should do some scholarly research and educate ordinary people like you and me. @joybhattacharj

Respected Sir, I have no part to play in this debate, but the name Uttar Pradesh did not exist before 1950. I have a transcript of the original Bengal Sati regulation act of 1829, and it reads nothing like this. Greats like Raja Ram Mohun Roy & Sahajanand Swami of Gujarat campaigned against an evil which claimed an estimated 800 plus lives in and around Calcutta alone in the 1800s including Ram Mohun Roy's sister-in-law.

@jonasgahrstore

.#VineshPhogat As far as the event is concerned, it was Vinesh and her support team who needed to be responsible. She was well aware of what it entailed to fight in the 50kg category, far below her normal weight, and no one but her team could have influenced her in doing so. As an experienced athlete, it was her responsibility to make sure she was within the stipulated weight. That she wasn’t was very unfortunate and disappointing for us all in India. But if there is anyone at fault here, it is Vinesh and her support team, and not Usha or anyone else. That she lost the medal is her fault, and no one else’s, and that’s something she has to own up to.

As she comes to terms with the loss of an Olympic medal and embarks on a new career as a politician, Vinesh Phogat seems to have pointed the finger at multiple people for her loss. She would do well to look within. @BoriaMajumdar ✍️ @WeAreTeamIndia revsportz.in/vinesh-phogat-…

In our series of debunking alleged journalist & TMC MP Sagarika Ghose’s husband Rajdeep Sardesai’s(@sardesairajdeep) biased Prime Time reporting on India today, we now expose his propaganda on the meet up of Rahul Gandhi with Vinesh Phogat & Bajrang Punia, Haryana & Jammu Kashmir elections & IC-814 hijack And the question remains; What is Aroon Purie’s(@aroonpurie) compulsion in continuing to give slots to such biased and agenda propagandists? @shreya_arora22 #Haryana #IC814TheKandaharHijack

“Alleged rape and murder”? Post mortem report said that “perverted sexuality” and “genital torture” had resulted in serious wound in her private parts. Head was slammed. Glass shard in her eyes. Her pelvis was shattered. How is this “alleged”, you sick, disgusting man?

Rishi Sunak has won 110 seats out of 600 seats[18.3%] and silently accepted his defeat in the elections. Rahul Gandhi won 99 seats out of 543 seats [18.23%] and dancing like a JOKER in the Indian Parliament.

Looks like initially Pakistanis have not treated Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman well. He was beaten up. If any attempt to torture him is made, Pakistan will have to pay very dearly. Pakis should not think this is 1999 Kargil War. No mercy will be shown to Paki assets.
