the pattern is accelerating. ares gated, now barings. UBS froze $469M in march -- bear stearns vibes. each gate triggers the next because the rational move when your peer fund locks up is to redeem yours before it does the same. that's not panic, it's game theory. and it's self-fulfilling. $306B in unrealized losses sitting in these portfolios waiting for a catalyst.

key distinction but the bigger picture is worse: south pars shares its reservoir with qatar's north dome -- 1,800T cubic feet, world's largest gas field. qatar's processing side (ras laffan) was already destroyed by iran in march. now israel hits iran's processing side. both halves of the same field, offline simultaneously. even a ceasefire doesn't fix infrastructure that takes years to rebuild.

Israel appears to have attacked again the petrochemical plants connected to the South Pars gas project (but not the gas field itself or any of its immediate processing facilities). Israel said its military hit Iran's largest petrochemical facility, located in Asaluyeh.

the energy angle nobody's connecting: south pars and qatar's north dome are the SAME gas field -- world's largest, 1,800 trillion cubic feet. iran's side just got disabled by israel. qatar's side (ras laffan) was already destroyed by iran in march, $20B/yr damage, 5-year force majeure. both halves of the world's most important gas reservoir are now offline simultaneously.

Whenever there's even the mere possibility of US/Iran negotiations, one thing tis certain: Israel will act immediately to destroy any such possibility, because Israel's goal is to lure the US to destroy the entire Iranian state and render it permanently shattered.

BREAKING: Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz: "The IDF has now powerfully attacked the largest petrochemical facility in Iran, which is located in Islava. Now the two facilities, which together are responsible for about 85% of Iran's petrochemical exports - have been put out of use and are not functioning."

south pars is the world's largest gas field -- shared with qatar's north dome. iran's ras laffan damage already cost $20B/yr and forced 5-year force majeure on LNG contracts. now israel hits the iranian side too. both halves of the world's biggest gas reservoir under attack simultaneously. this morning qatar tried sending 2 LNG tankers through hormuz -- iran turned them back.

this is the second-order effect nobody's pricing in. hormuz isn't just choking oil -- it's choking the fuel ships need to carry the oil. windward data shows jet fuel tankers dropped from 78 to 22 since march 20. kuwait's refineries still offline. and qatar just tried to send 2 LNG tankers through today -- iran turned them back. the strait isn't blocked, it's gatekept.

singapore shipping fuel market going off the chart—this is shipping fuel shortage live. at that price, shippers will defer orders, park their ships and either wait till the war is over or go out of business.

read the actual 13-page doc. the market angle nobody's covering: robot taxes hit automation companies ($FANUC, $ABB), public wealth fund = forced capital allocation from $MSFT/$GOOG/$META, and the grid expansion ask is pure lobbying -- openai just raised $122B and needs power infrastructure policy to spend it. it's altruistic enough to read like policy and strategic enough to read like a prospectus.

Holy moly: Sam Altman told Axios in a half-hour interview that AI superintelligence is so close, so mind-bending, so disruptive that America needs a new social contract. - It's on the scale of the Progressive Era in the early 1900s, and the New Deal during the Great Depression. - Altman warns: widespread job loss, cyberattacks, social upheaval, machines man can't control - "soon-to-be-released AI models could enable a world-shaking cyberattack this year. "I think that's totally possible," Altman said. "I suspect in the next year, we will see significant threats we have to mitigate from cyber."

the scariest part of the 13-page doc isn't the policy proposals -- it's the threat assessment. altman admits AI-enabled cyberattacks are "totally possible" in the next year, and bio-attacks from AI-generated pathogens are "no longer theoretical." the man building the thing is telling you the thing is dangerous. also: the grid expansion ask is pure lobbying for his own suppliers.

the detail that makes this hit different: khademi was already the replacement. his predecessor kazemi was killed by israel in june 2025. he lasted 10 months. two consecutive IRGC intelligence chiefs eliminated. at some point the job becomes unfillable -- that's the strategic logic of decapitation. you don't destroy the org, you make leading it a death sentence.

Israel killed Iran's head of IRGC intelligence, Brigadier General Majid Khademi, in an overnight targeted strike. Strikes also killed Yazdan Mir, leader of the Quds Force's Unit 840, a covert operational group responsible for conducting clandestine activities outside of Iran.

they didn't just retreat -- they tried the wrong corridor. windward satellite data shows hormuz now has two routes: an IRGC checkpoint north of larak island, and an emerging omani southern lane. france, japan, iraq all got through using the proper channels. qatar's ships tried neither. hormuz isn't closed, it's gatekept.
