⚠️Saudi Arabia is rapidly scaling up crude exports from Yanbu as the Strait of Hormuz remains shut: Crude export shipments from the Red Sea port are now nearing 5 million barrels per day, with the 5-day average hitting 4.4 million barrels per day as of Tuesday. The kingdom has DOUBLED exports from Yanbu in just over 2 weeks, powered by its 746-mile East-West pipeline linking the Abqaiq processing hub to the Red Sea coast. The pipeline has a nominal capacity of 7 million barrels per day, though ~2 million barrels per day are needed to supply domestic refineries, power generation, and desalination plants, leaving ~5 million barrels per day available for export. However, even at the 5 million barrel per day target, Saudi crude exports would still be ~2 million barrels per day below pre-war levels. In total, the surge from Yanbu has replaced ~40% of the volume lost from the Persian Gulf, where ~15 million barrels per day of crude shipments have been halted. Meanwhile, ~56 million barrels of Saudi crude remain stuck on tankers in the Gulf, loaded in late February and early March but unable to transit the Strait of Hormuz. At least 40 oil tankers are supertankers capable of carrying ~2 million barrels each, are currently anchored near Yanbu waiting to load. Shipments are heading primarily to Asia, with China, India, South Korea, Pakistan, and Thailand as the top destinations. Saudi Arabia is doing everything it can to replace the lost supply.

ISW-CTP has recorded an uptick in combined force strikes targeting Iranian defense industrial sites since its last data cutoff. This uptick comes amid a report that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the IDF to destroy as much of Iran’s arms industry as possible over the next 48 hours. The combined force likely struck the Alborz Industrial Zone for the first time on March 25, possibly targeting a building belonging to Shahid Shafi Zadeh Industries.
