Every single white Rhodesian that I know on this site (that fled to SA) is planning to leave SA within the next year because "they know where this is going". Nightmare fuel for those of us who only have SA citizenship & no options. We need refugee status to get out of here.

@RynoJvVuuren It'll confuse people that don't understand that we don't have a functioning justice system. He's appealing & it will be reviewed by the constitutional court. The same court that he appointed each member of & that found "kill the boer" to be constitutional. He won't see jail.

Julius Malema was just sentenced as follows: Count 1: 5 years Count 2: 2 years Counts 3–5: fines (or short jail terms) The sentences will run concurrently, effective 5 years. He's filing an appeal.

To give you a better idea of just how corrupt the system is. Julius Melema intends to appeal his case right up to Constitutional Court. A court where Melema has sat on the board to select the very judges he intends to be tried by. A massive conflict of interest showing that not all in South African are equal under the law.

A family from church has a boy in the hospital, my wife made them dinner to ease their suffering. I like being married to a woman who does stuff like this instead of typing numbers into a spreadsheet at a job she hates. Happy to work a little harder to make it happen.

@HowardFeldman If you're a minority in SA with regards to religious beliefs, which I know you are, I am as well, we both know this isn't true. The US/EU is significantly more tolerant. They probably did that census with a small sample of very educated people, not representative of the wider SA.

Justice prevails: @afriforum welcomes the court’s decision to sentence convicted felon @Julius_S_Malema to five years’ direct imprisonment. Malema and the @EFFSouthAfrica acted with impunity and it was essential for the court to send a clear message that no one is above the law. This judgment reinforces the principles of accountability and equality before the law. Although it took eight years for justice to prevail, this outcome demonstrates that persistence matters. AfriForum will thus continue to fight for justice and to ensure that the criminal justice system fulfils its mandate without fear, favour or prejudice. This ruling should serve as a warning to politicians and others who contravene the law: they will be held accountable.
