Yeah dude. All these agents just take the path of least resistance, and you think you’re done, but their changes break something else, and then another thing and another thing.
You’ve deliberated, planned, architected, but when your hands aren’t on the guts of the code and you really don’t know how it works, things fall apart quickly. Not really sure if or how this is solvable.

i miss hopping between files, reading error messages, writing shit code and then refactoring it later.. and then refactoring it again and again..
agents are nice but i just spent three days fixing a feature i probably could've just coded from scratch more quickly
gpt 5.4 is my model of choice these days, and it's pretty good but i think i fell for the bait that i didnt need to read the code anymore

I have met a surprising amount of longevity/tech-optimists who live this way. Riding their bodies till the wheels fall off in the belief that medical advances are soon coming that will reverse all the booze and no-exercise. Like a tech-version of believing in heaven.

Most people write worse code than AI does.
I've worked in absolutely horrible codebases, 100% written and messed up by humans.
So why do we complain about AI-generated slop code today?
Because of the scale at which we are producing it.
Before, you needed a bad programmer to manually write and deploy a ton of bad code.
Today, you can generate virtually unlimited bad code very cheaply and without any constraints.
So the quality of the code might be improving, but the overall amount of technical debt is increasing exponentially.
