@HunterH0well As editor I do, as reviewer I suggest language/clarity improvements but don’t correct to match journals’ style. When asked during reviews if the article adheres to style requirements I say that I haven’t checked for that and consider it outside the remit of reviewers.

Does anyone else rarely change wording/grammar or styles of writing while editing scientific articles? I just feel like 1) it’s not my job 2) I’m Not the author 3) that’s why editors exist
