@mc_khristina MTPLF is USD denominated and using USD margin typically attracts higher interest rate. Does it not make sense to use JPY margin for 3350 with lower rate?

MetaPlanet at Fidelity. Given I placed my first order for 3350.T in Japan last night, I called Fidelity to understand how they would treat those shares vs. my $MTPLF. Here is what I learned ... 3350.T and $MTPLF are identical shares .. they have the same SEDOL, ISIN and CUSIP identifiers... the only difference is their ticker, so Fidelity typically merges them into one position ... and you are able to trade those positions freely (if you hold $MTPLF in your account, I was told you could sell it in Japan as 3350.T). Now, the nuance comes in if you hold 3350.T in cash and $MTPLF in margin (which I do). You can only sell $MTPLF in Japan if you hold it in cash, so to sell it in Japan, I would need to move it from margin to cash (which can only be done via the phone). Given, I hold my 3350.T in cash and $MTPLF in margin, my positions will be kept separately from one another.
