Clarification: The images in this gallery are from 2007 of the VIP suite at the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center, which closed in 2011. That is not the same facility as the current Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, which replaced the former Walter Reed in 2011. Walter Reed Army Medical Center's Ward 71 consisted of six patient rooms, one of which was in the Presidential Suite. Demolition of Walter Reed is sore spot with Vets because that’s where they received rehabilitation from severe injuries. The new development kept 3 of original Commandant houses. Sad.

For me it goes back to my senior year in high school in 1979 when they took our embassy hostage. Then my senior year in college 1983 when they blew up our Marine barracks, embassy & annex in Beirut murdering around 300 Americans. Then when I was a major in 1996 Iranians blew up Khobar Towers murdering 19 of my fellow Air Force airmen. I’m cheering every blow to the Iranian theocracy and hoping/praying we can free the Iranians.

I sat at dinner talking about this rescue. I then spoke about images from Blackhawk Down. I talked about hostages in Iran. My son looked things up. 50 years of evil! 50 years of killing innocent girls for not covering their hair. 50 years of global terrorism funded thru Iran. He finally understands how happy I am to see them face what they've done to others for 50 years! TEACHING history has never been more important.
