Here's your bizarre NBA stat of the night: As of this moment, the top 15 teams in the standings have played 100 games against <.500 teams... ... and have won 92 of them. Three of those eight losses were the Suns. The other 14 teams are 84-5.

The Pacers are currently 1-11.
The Pelicans are currently 2-10.
The first-round picks of both teams (in a very strong draft class) were initially headed to Nola. Thanks to Joe Dumars and Troy Weaver, they'll both land in the East (with the Pacers and Hawks) instead.

The scenario basically boils down to keeping him on a two-way deal and deciding on his future after the trade deadline with much more data or converting him to a standard contract now and losing potential flexibility for no gain.
I expect the front office will go with #1.

But Duncan actually has a stronger and longer track record, and he's got some strengths that Malik does not.

Super gutsy win by a tired and depleted Pistons roster.
Great to see Daniss Jenkins (24p, 8r, 3a, 4s, lots of energy, some solid defense) see his first taste of NBA success. No matter the opponent, the leap from G-League to NBA opposition is a prodigious one.
Cade is a true example-setter. He was plainly exhausted after last night's down-to-the-wire performance and had no business playing nearly 40 minutes tonight.
