On @FAO World Food Day we look at the importance of ensuring all people have access to diverse, nutritious and safe foods. Y4 have been learning about the importance of good nutrition in their enrichment lessons and recently made some healthy wraps.

Our Y3s enjoyed making their own hedgehogs from clay and twigs. They made shelters for their hedgehogs out of sticks and string, which helped to improve their knot tying skills. We discussed how we could make larger versions of these shelters for ourselves if we were in a forest.

The @NorthGuildford1 Food Bank is a vital source for those in need, working hard to ensure that no-one goes hungry. This morning the Prep and Senior school collected food bank donations, to support this local charity. Thank you to all our pupils and parents for your donations.

Today we took part in #Take10toRead which saw everyone stopping everything at 10am to read for 10 minutes. At the time, our Y3s were swimming at @SurreySportPark and enjoyed a story in the pool. Our Y5s read their books and even our staff stopped for a quiet read.

In Science Club, our Y3 and Y5 scientists have been experimenting with liquid and gel food colourings to see which produces a more vivid colour when mixed with water. In their final experiment, the class determined gel produces a stronger colour as it is more 'concentrated'.

Ian Stott (our French horn teacher) gave a demonstration to the girls in forms 4x, 5x and 6x on Friday. It was wonderful to see and hear the French horn played so beautifully and the girls enjoyed playing their own 'hose pipe' French horns #TormeadGirlsThrive #Tormead_Resilience

To mark Space Week, Miss Meech, with the help of Jacinta's IT skills, shared the story of Katherine Johnson. Katherine overcame racial and gender hurdles to work as a "computer" for NASA. The girls will be designing their own postcards with the questions they have about space.

Training at @SurreySportPark with a real life Olympian was a pull for 50 Y3-6 students who attended our Hockey Experience Day in conjunction with @GuildfordHC. The question and answer session with Mr Page who competed for @TeamIreland at @Paris2024 was a real highlight.
